  • Mellow Mushroom Frisco
The same love for pizza and beer that fueled three college students in 1974 transformed their lives as they expanded their business from one rundown building in Atlanta to 100 Mellow Mushroom restaurants across 15 states today. Each eatery owes its individual style to each location's being locally owned and operated, much like impressionist painters owed their individual style to their number of ears. In the kitchens, chefs assemble grilled and deli-style hoagies and bake calzones and pizzas in stone hearths using dough made with natural spring water. Though many of the restaurant's dishes have remained on the menu since its inception, the culinary crew frequently devises new, often gluten-free, dishes to keep senior-ranking pepperonis from becoming too powerful. Servers pair dishes with their location's own set of local brews, which fit into a collection of up to 100 microbrewed and imported beers on tap and in bottles. Brewers such as Bell's, Abita, and Dogfish Head are also featured in regular beer events.

  • Frisco Bar
Though The Frisco Bar initially opened to provide the people of Frisco with a neighborhood hangout, the eatery is far from a typical bar. Sure, the menu is dotted with traditional bar food, such as burgers, pizza, and fish and chips, but these hearty meals also share page-space with more upscale feasts, including fish and tenderloin tacos, sweet-potato fries, and lumpia rolls packed with ground pork, carrots, and sprouts. To complement meals, bartenders pour glasses of cabernet, sauvignon blanc, and pinot grigio, and concoct nine unconventionally flavored martinis, from chocolate-covered raspberry to cinnamon apple pie. During their visit, patrons can sink into the eatery’s soft leather and velvet seating, play shuffleboard and darts, or test new pick-up lines on sports announcers broadcasted across the bar's collection 50-inch HD TVs.

  • CineStar Movie Company
CineStar Outdoor Movie Company turns backyards and parks into open-air cinemas, supplying high-quality, widescreen movie screens for events ranging from weddings to block parties. The staff does more than just drop off a big screen at each customer's desired location: from the moment a customer calls, they get to work planning the event, setting up the screens—which can be prepped for live feeds playing local sports, UFC matches, or other Pay Per View events—and providing optional accompaniments such as popcorn, glow sticks, and even beanbags or couches. To ensure every event is a success, they help customers with licensing, promoting, and scheduling, and will even talk to neighbors to prep them for the event and gently explain why Movie Godzilla shouldn’t be feared, but Real Godzilla should be.

  • Irish Rover Pub and Restaurant
Pool tables, 12 televisions, weekly poker nights, and a menu compiled of traditional Irish fare make this establishment a neighborhood institution. Start the evening with an order of Rover Nuts, breaded and fried orbs of mashed potatoes, onions, cheese, bacon bits, and jalapeños ($6 for six). A Rover Rueben piles sauerkraut, thousand-island dressing, melted swiss, and corned beef or turkey on marbled rye ($9), and the shepherd's pie tucks away seasoned ground beef and vegetables in a savory gravy-topped crust suitcase ($12). Though beverages are not included in this Groupon, Irish Rover also boasts 39 draft beers and additional bottled options.
