"Come get naked with us." It sounds like an indecent proposal, but it's really a call to action from Naked Winery?specifically a call to grab some of the cheeky winery's offerings. Its winemakers use grapes grown in both hot and dry climates and cool marine climates in Oregon and Washington to produce vintages such as Foreplay chardonnay and the sweet red Blazing Straddle.
The masterminds behind the winery, the Barringer and Michalec families, gave their creations such sassy names partly because of the wines' ability to seduce palates. But they also did it because they loved the idea of couples sipping a glass at night and sharing a laugh over the names and saucy descriptions on the label.

Roots owner and chef Brad Root uses seasonal, natural ingredients to prepare tongue-tapping dishes in an upscale dining environment. Roots' lunch menu offers tinier tastes of many of the dinner menu's selections, with crispy fried oysters ($10.95) and a local baby-shrimp salad ($11) summoning sustenance from the world-weary waters of the Pacific. At lunch or at dinner, guests can satisfy grape-teeth with a choice from Roots' impressive list of local and California wines, or sip cocktails from the full bar.
The hills above Milwaukie bear many secrets, including a turn-of-the-century estate called Amadeus Manor with sloping roofs, heavy wood doors, and stunning views of the Willamette River and Portland skyline. This hidden gem—a three-story stone manor built in 1921—emerges from the bowed limbs of enormous trees and shrubbery, welcoming people inside for a romantic dinner of continental cuisine.
Its menu is culled from European classics, with a focus on the owner's home country, Austria. For the schnitzel Amadeus, the chefs trim pork tenderloin by hand, and for the steak au poivre Madagascar, they paint a grilled new york strip steak in a peppercorn cognac demi glace and pair it with mango chutney. Dinners sweetly conclude with a rotating menu of desserts made in house and a cup of house coffee served with luscious clotted cream.
Guests linger over the meals at tables set with fresh flowers while nearby, a fire roars in a stone hearth. Dusk is particularly enchanting when the setting sun illuminates iron-framed windows and the manor's glittering chandeliers twinkle in the soft pink light.
Cinetopia's super-high-definition digital projectors, wide leather seats, fresh market-to-table cuisine, selection of local microbrews, extensive wine list, and art gallery have earned the cinema acclaim from multiple media outlets. The Vancouver Mall 23 location boasts four enormous GXL screens up to 80 feet with 4096p projection—4 times the resolution of Blu-ray—and an exclusive immersive 64.2 channel Dolby ATMOS sound system, five luxury-themed movie parlors, nine living rooms, and five grand auditoriums with steep stadium-style seating and ejection buttons that allow audiences to escape the theater during too-scary shower scenes.
The Mill Plain location also houses five grand auditorium theaters, each equipped with 50-foot, 2048p screens. Visitors to each Cinetopia can order restaurant service in select screening rooms. They can also customize their popcorn at a gourmet-butter bar, and enjoy preshow live music performed 20 minutes before weekend evening shows, typically by pianists, violinists, and horror-movie villains trying to rebrand their image. Cinetopia also carries a host of other classic comfort food and beverages, such as pastries, made-from-scratch pizzas, and more than 50 wines.
