Equipped with 3-D capabilities and digital sound, Spotlight Theatres Searstown 10 can easily handle the increasingly sophisticated demands of modern film projection. The theater is also preparing for future innovations coming down Hollywood's pipeline. Here are three upgrades on the horizon: Tantalus 3D

The latest action extravaganza based on Greek mythology. As the greedy Tantalus is punished by the gods and trapped between water he can't drink and food he can't reach, audiences feel like they're there with him thanks to the magic of 3-D glasses with the lenses removed.

End Times

Advances in CGI and multitrack editing have allowed Hollywood to layer the final five minutes of every Best Picture–winning film into a single cathartic joyride. The festival circuit has praised the sequence where Michael Corleone orchestrates an assassination of Forrest Gump, Rocky, and Mozart just as they board swan-ships in the Grey Havens, only to be avenged by hordes of medieval Scotsmen led by Lawrence of Arabia.

Dances With Wolves

Now that technology has caught up to Kevin Costner's original vision of the frontier on the cusp of modernity, this classic has received a digital remastering. Lieutenant John Dunbar is stationed on the edge of Sioux territory, but soon finds himself torn between the opposing worlds of unstoppable Western expansion and simple tribal virtues. The bittersweet film tells the universal tale of old versus new. Also, everyone rides unicorns.

Central Florida’s aqueous wonders become tangible during A Day Away Kayak Tours’ boating excursions, as guests explore diverse estuaries with manatees and dolphins often swimming a paddle’s length away. The eclectic tours immerse kayakers in a cornucopia of experiences, including bioluminescent nighttime paddles that reveal eerily glowing organisms and flashes of light as fish swim by and solder their underwater sand castles. Sunset tours present leisurely rosy-hued panoramas, and day tours give glimpses of gators and soaring kingfishers and ospreys. On other tours, groups stop to explore grass flats and dig for clams as wild turkeys and pigs spectate. Beyond the kayak, pontoons usher guests on eco tours on the Indian River, and guides lead fishing trips off Merritt Island in search of sea trout and mangrove snapper.

A 200-foot man-made alligator flashes his brace-free grin as visitors pass through the gates of Jungle Adventures' lush wilderness to meet the myriad creatures that call it home. From exhibit to exhibit, rare beasts including Florida panthers, black bears, tropical birds, and wolves exchange salutations with their visitors. Knowledgeable experts navigate jungle terrain during guided tours and VIP adventure tours, and at live exhibitions, such as the Gator Jamboree Feeding Adventure, experienced handlers coax shy critters from their hiding places. The park also explores the area's human history in replicas of a 16th-century Spanish fort and Native American village, where authentic recreations of ancient artifacts, decorations, and brick-sized cell phones shed light on lifestyles from centuries ago.

Towering palm trees rise above the ivory clubhouse at La Cita Country Club, their leaves like natural sentries watching over a realm of genteel social gatherings and athletic recreation. Golfers circle the clubhouse as they hunt pars across the Club’s scenic 18-hole golf course, where water comes into play on all but four holes and attracts white egrets, hawks, eagles, and golf carts longing to see their own reflection. Metronomic rhythms of serves and backhands resonate from the La Cita Racquet Club, which houses six lighted, outdoor Har-Tru—green clay—tennis courts and two air-conditioned racquetball courts.

The Club also encompasses an outdoor pool, where guests can swim laps, work up a sweat in group fitness classes, or run a black market for swimming goggles in the shadows cast by white parasols. Those who prefer to stay dry during a workout can head to the health club, which fosters fitter lifestyles with treadmills, weight machines, and stairmasters.
