Since she was six years old, Laura Hagood's world just seemed a little more interesting when observed through the viewfinder. A lot has changed since those days; she's swapped her parents film camera for a digital Canon 5D Mark III, and now she takes pictures for a living, not just for fun. Today she runs all kinds of photo shoots, including newborn portraits, engagement shoots, and boudoir sessions for solo subjects or parties.

Pro Tip: We love spending time in contact with our customers.
What sets your business apart from your competition?
At this time, availability, but generally we work hard on preparation for the shoot, beginning with a free consultation to assist our customers in customizing their own work. We may be the photographer, but many ideas come from the minds of our clients.
What was the inspiration for starting this business?
I decided it was important for me to begin to work out and create my own ideas.
Is there anything else you want to add that we didn't cover?
Yes, we shoot on-location primarily, as we do not have a studio.
What’s your favorite part about your job?
My independence and the ability/desire to present the reality of what I'm photographing.
Photographer Billye snaps away at groups small and large to obtain lasting memories. Engaged couples, families, or work employees convene upon her studio for a professional photo session. Post-shoot, clients walk away with a CD of their lightly edited chosen images, which easily can be printed, or uploaded to social-networking sites or their favorite neighbor?s screen saver. Billye can also offer advice on best and most affordable printing options.
Jim Sovanski—named a Master of Photography by the Professional Photographers of America—demonstrates the skills that earned him this degree during portrait sessions for kids, families, cars, and motorcycles. Sovanski, who also holds a journalism degree, applies a photojournalistic approach to all shoots, precisely documenting important moments and emotions with unique composition and lighting. In addition to photo shoots for individuals and groups, he also captures tasteful portraits of pets to ensure all family members get their chance to mug for the camera.
A beaming, tutu-clad youngster poses by a large number 2, commemorating her new age. A couple, nearly newlywed, strolls through a sepia-tinged park holding hands. A brindled puppy with floppy ears capers across a red wooden wagon. These are just a few of the shots that the photographers at Worth A 1000 Words Studio have captured during their tenure at the memory emporium. Both in-studio and on-location shoots cover the gamut of photogenic opportunities, from senior portraits to weddings to adorable pictures of babies disguised as bunnies or even smaller babies.
