Desima Dawdy, the director of Pilates Performance & Rehab, balances a mélange of classes, ranging from muscle-toning Pilates mat classes to sessions that help those recovering from injuries. In addition to classes aimed at enhancing sports or dance performance, tailored programs meet clients at the doorsteps of their own physical aptitudes, teaching guests effective exercises for managing pain, osteoporosis, or mad cat flu.

Exercise is challenging, and people frequently give up on their fitness routines. How do you keep clients motivated?
Each month we run a challenge to keep clients coming in, such as coming to class 25 times in one month to earn a free T-shirt. We change each class, so if you go to a specific class more than once that week, it will be different. Also, we have a variety of classes, so if our clients don't like one style, there are many more from which to choose.
Besides working out, what else can clients do to spend their time at your facility?
Free monthly measurements occur every month to show improvements and body change. We also offer help with nutrition guidance.
Do you run your gym according to a particular exercise philosophy?
We call ourselves a fitness boutique. We offer a variety of classes with fun, energetic, and motivational instructors that keep clients having fun and laughing while sweating and burning calories all in one awesome hour.
Is there anything else you want to add that we didn't cover?
Sweat studio comes with a warning label: it becomes an addiction. We have a very welcoming environment and offer a variety of classes suitable for both beginning and advanced students.
Jordan Ryan was so taken with Ashtanga yoga that she began teaching to share the practice with others. She instills the ancient discipline, which is known for its mindful movement, meditation, and breathing patterns that bring about harmony between mind, spirit, and body. During classes, she introduces what's known as Ashtanga's eight-limb system to new students and creates more challenging sessions for advanced students?though stopping short of demanding that they grow four more limbs.
At Genesis Emporia, the emphasis is on well-rounded fitness. Not only does the gym's staff arm its members with a slew of cardio and weight-training equipment, but the facility is dotted with conveniences such as basketball and tennis courts, childcare, tanning and steam rooms, and a yoga studio. Along with personal trainers, the staff includes fitness coaches who teach classes ranging from Zumba and Pilates to kickboxing and strength training. The gym also hosts kids' summer camps, which stress the importance of exercise with activities such as swimming or arts and crafts, so children can paint just like the famous weightlifters of the Italian Renaissance.
Learning2Fly?s founder Sumya Anani believes that all conscious movement leads one further down the path to empowerment. It is this philosophy that led Anani to become a registered yoga teacher, massage therapist, personal trainer, and four-time world boxing champion. After travelling the country to train under several top aerialists, she now strives to inspire others through her curriculum?which includes aerial yoga and trapeze?that stirs up self-awareness, discipline, and perseverance. She teaches techniques to all skill levels through introductory classes including aerial basics, aerial classes for kids and teens, and beginning silks for women 50+. Similarly, aerial camps immerse participants in the body-bending skills required to master her artful form of fitness. While clients maneuver in suspended grace, her trained instructors also teach floor-bound boxing and Hatha yoga classes, which boost the flexibility and strength of those who are afraid of heights or making their pet emu jealous.
For Emily and Sarah Darling, owners of Darling Yoga, helping students experience the present is both an art and a gift. They team up with 16 other seasoned instructors to guide students toward physical wellness and inner peace through the practice of ancient poses and breathing exercises. Emily and other instructors lead classes for all levels, during which stress melts faster than a snowman in a mosh pit. Their sessions range from beginner-friendly Yoga Basics to Vinyasa and Ashtanga routines for intermediate and advanced students. The expert tandem also hosts children's classes during many of the adult sessions, helping young yogis build strength, flexibility, and focus as their parents do the same in the classroom next door.
In one of their studios, natural light flows through large windows, bathing groups in uplifting sunbeams during challenging bends and balances. After class, students can unwind in onsite showers or browse a boutique brimming with yoga mats, props, and apparel.
