Toronto Social Dance School's instructors teach students with all kinds of dance experience, ranging from beginners who have never set heeled foot to hardwood to seasoned dancers looking to learn a new style. The instructors must complete a rigorous training program before they can teach, so they are well-versed in a variety of dancing styles. They can teach students traditional ballroom and social dance routines and how to have fun doing the merengue, hustle, and waltz.
To ensure that each dancer gets the most out of private or group classes, teachers have friendly consultations with new students to determine their previous dance experience and evaluate their current skill level. This meet and greet helps the staff place students in classes full of dancers of similar abilities before teaching them to swing hips in a salsa class or toe-tap during a swing session. Regardless of what style students choose, all lessons offer a supportive atmosphere that helps build confidence, tone bodies, and forge new friendships.
In addition to dance classes six days a week, Toronto Social Dance School also encourages students to practice their shuffling during weekly socials held every Friday and Saturday night.
Curling is in Chad McMullan’s blood. After spending his childhood Sundays watching his parents compete at their favourite Winnipeg rink, Chad carried on the family tradition, notching victories in multiple World Curling Tour outings, two appearances in Canadian national championships, and one imaginary sleepover with the Governor-General over the course of his career. After stints as Executive Director of the World Curling Tour and World Curling Players' Association, Chad brought his icy know-how to Rock Solid Productions, which applies curling’s fundamental team-building qualities to everything from business retreats to beginner’s lessons. The group’s in-school training program introduces curling to 100,000 students each year, helping Chad share his childhood love of the game with the next generation of competitors.
The pilot watches the single-engine aircraft's gauges adjust as he takes off from London's Heathrow Airport. Moments later, he dives an F-16 fighter jet beneath the Brooklyn Bridge. Flightmaster's virtual flight simulator empowers prospective pilots to jump between experiences like these while ensconced in a cockpit modelled after those used in professional flight training. Flight assistants guide guests, acquainting them with the instrument panel as they fly over virtual terrains that range from detailed cities to wild landscapes. For added effect, the simulator adjusts light according to time of day, as well as challenges pilots with weather changes, bouts of turbulence, and Godzilla attacks. Beyond simulated flying, Flightmaster also throws kids' birthday parties in the flight simulator.
