It’s tough to get tree frogs, toucans, and monkeys to sit still in a studio. That's why the leaders of the Academy of Photo Arts take photography trips to Costa Rica, where they can find exotic wildlife in its natural habitat before capturing it on film. The photography academy’s travel courses can also whisk students off to Venice’s picturesque canals, or to Las Vegas to capture shots of the Grand Canyon or the landfill where all copies of Vegas Vacation are buried.
The school hosts Toronto-based courses as well, where keen-eyed photographers lead interactive workshops on wildlife photography and landscape photography. The in-studio courses, meanwhile, focus on techniques that help artists create flattering lighting setups, perform seamless Photoshop edits, and unscrew lens caps rather than smashing them to pieces in frustration. The Academy also provides photo- and video-booth rental that allows photo-takers to capture as many photos and video as they want in both color or black-and-white.
As a graphic designer, Fayaz composed images for companies both small and large. He noticed, though, that his work showed a single trend over time: photography. He'd incorporate photographs that caught his eye into his art, so much so that he began to question his career. After all, as a child, he had been fascinated with cameras and their capability to stop time.
He soon ceased to question and traded his computer mouse for a camera lens. That was the beginning of FM Photography. Since then, Fayaz has documented weddings, engaged couples on romantic outings, and intimate portraits. His ability to capture moments of profound emotion is apparent from his gallery, whose pictures range from shots of jamming band members to stills of a child carefully playing the violin. While on assignment, he utilizes settings such as parks and grandiose building exteriors as backdrops. In the interest of image preservation, every one of his photo shoots includes a DVD or USB of colour-corrected, edited pictures.
PhotoBooth 2 Go’s trained attendants set up and operate shutter-happy booths at weddings, sporting events, large parties, or awareness gatherings for charitable events, with specific backdrops and props to complement the occasion. Booths arrive ready to snap unlimited photo strips of smiling faces adorned in provided goofy props and accessories, including hats, boas, and invisibility cloaks. After the festivities, hosts can relive them with a flash drive loaded with all of the event's images and a memory book with the guests' handwritten notes interspersed amid the pictures.
Guestlist DJ and Entertainment completes the party with DJs spinning tunes on systems that can keep guests dancing. On the dance floor, their supplied lights flicker and glow, adding colourful excitement to two-stepping feet. When guests aren’t letting loose to the grooves, they slip into the rented open-air photo booth to document the festivities. Photo booths come with backdrops, professional lighting, and an attendant, as well as goofy props to pose with such as fake moustaches and novelty sunglasses.
