Spend an entire afternoon crawling on your belly over rocks and dashing between bunkers with the whiz of paint-filled capsules humming past your ears. Then open fire and decimate enemies, friends, or co-workers in a splatter of color. New Breed Paintball has more than six fields stocked with old tires, barrels, heaps of logs, and wall remnants that challenge fleet feet, sharp eyes, and trigger fingers to work together. A castle field allows paint-slingers to study the forces of wind-resistance and splatter from a tall turret and within weathered, loggy walls. Click here to see photos of fields and paintballers in action. Be sure to dress appropriately: the paint washes out of clothing, but you're going to get really dirty, no matter how gifted a sharpshooter you may be.

Q&A with Jim, Sr. Tactical Firearms Instructor

Apart from your business's main attraction, do you offer any "hidden" services or activities that visitors are always delighted to learn about?
Several additional courses are available [at] discounts to returning clients.

What’s your favorite part of your job?
The best part about our job is when the client gets the moment of what we call "ah-ha"—everything we are teaching them comes together in the student's mind and they are able to show us what they can do. That's where the fun really starts.

Is there anything else you want to add that we didn't cover?
All of our staff are experienced, certified instructors. Many are from several agencies such as [the] National Rifle Association, NRA Law Enforcement Activities Division, Glock, Safariland, and PPCI. The majority of our staff have backgrounds in naval, military, law-enforcement, or competitive shooting. Our experience and abilities come across with each student we work with to provide the safest and most educational opportunity for them to shine in.

NRA-certified instructor Lateif Dickerson gladly shares his firearms expertise for both the real and theoretical world, which led Michio Kaku to seek his insight for Discovery Channel's Sci Fi Science. When not contemplating the possibility of Star Wars-caliber firepower, Lateif leads classes in both armed and unarmed self-defense for beginner through advanced students at New Jersey Firearms Academy. He and his team also extend their courses to specialty topics, such as First Aid in the wilderness. Beyond civilian training, Lateif instructs law-enforcement and security personnel with programs such as SORA and K-9 training. The academy also houses a shop stocked with firearms gear.
