John Lamoreux first started tinkering with cars as a teenager after his mother, Dorothy, encouraged him to fix up her coworkers' vehicles. Almost 30 years later, John's passion for all things automotive has translated into The Auto & Tire Doctor, his three-acre, AAA-approved automotive-repair center and maintenance shop. John welcomes roadsters of all makes and models into his shop's 14 full-service bays, employing computerized diagnostic equipment and a staff of ASE-certified experts who specialize in Audis, Volkswagens, and Subarus. Handling a host of automotive services, The Auto & Tire Doctor also uses a computerized My Car tracking system to schedule appointments and track maintenance records. Customers can lounge in soft, plush couches as they wait and take in the race-centric décor of vintage gas pumps and an engine-block coffee table that runs on dog-eared copies of Car and Driver.
Congeniality comes second only to cleanliness at Jimmy’s, where the owner is always on site and the employees are enthusiastic about spiffing up their customers’ rides. Lest vehicle interiors become jealous of newly laved exteriors, Jimmy’s invites customers to use complimentary vacuums, window cleaner, and towels to put the finishing touches on their vehicular makeovers.

Terrible Herbst's automated wash tunnel and experienced staff carefully swipe vehicular surfaces clean with eco-friendly Blue Coral products. Each five-minute express exterior car wash starts off as valets escort vehicles to the drive-thru tunnel, which gently gargles cars with a triple-foam polish and clear-coat protectant. After the soft-cloth wash coats circular feet with wheel brightener, a spot-free rinse and air-dry prep vehicles to emerge onto the road as shiny and head-turning as a president with braces. Customers who opt for the Ultimate full-service car washes can augment the express exterior washes with interior-pampering services. During the 20- to 25-minute cleaning, car-caretakers wipe and dust windows, dashboards, and consoles while vacuums devour dirt and precambrian crumbs from carpets.
