Justin Rhea, owner of Rhea Contracting, loves being his own boss. That's because he's able to build relationships with customers as he repairs, paints, and remodels their homes. It allows him to offer his highest quality of craftsmanship to each client, a level of work which has earned him some priceless reactions. "One customer screamed when she saw her kitchen," he recalls fondly.
What makes your business stand out?
We use professional movers and our own equipment. We do not use temp workers or day laborers. Our guys are extremely friendly as well as hard working and we strive to have the best possible customer service by exceeding our customers' expectations.
What inspired you to start or run this business?
After working for another local moving company through college, I decided to start my own locally based moving company. After spending five years in business with my former partner and winning the 2013 Memphis most moving award, I decided to branch off and start another company.
Is there anything else you want to add that we didn't cover?
Each move comes with dollies, blankets, ratchet straps, tools, and insurance. We also offer other services like packing, unpacking, loading, and unloading of a customer's rental truck or POD, as well as inner home and office moves.
What is the best reaction you’ve ever gotten from a customer?
"These guys were great!" We hear it all the time, but it never gets old.
What’s your favorite part about your job?
Moving is a really stressful time in most people's life. We enjoy taking the stress out of the move and making customers feel comfortable during the moving process.

Pro Tip: My Town Movers, Inc. is a fully licensed, bonded, and insured full-service moving company.
Despite the industrious nature of their trade, the Roof Pro of Memphis, LLC team holds itself to a compassionate mission, which is to handle each project as if they are working on their own home. The GAF Master Elite–certified contractors perform both residential and commercial services, repairing and replacing roofs as well as administering inspections. During every project, the licensed and insured staff—which boasts more than a half-century of combined experience—restricts damage with careful touches, such as covering plants and shrubs to shield them from debris or nosediving weathervanes. Once service is complete, manufacturers’ warranties protect Roof Pro of Memphis, LLC’s work for anywhere from two years to a lifetime.
My Friendly Helper deploys a team of licensed, bonded, and insured cleaners who tote their own tools and supplies in order to help their clients live lives that are a bit shinier and much more organized. They specialize in both residential and business services, offering one-time cleanings, weekly visits, or biweekly sessions to maintain tidy spaces long term. Basic cleanings keep rooms fresh, while deep-down, detailed cleanings work over harder-to-tackle areas such as baseboards, fans, blinds, trim, and enchanted filing cabinets. To lend customers better peace-of-mind, the company strives to send out the same team of cleaners each time, and backs all services with a 24-hour guarantee that will see less-then-sparkling areas re-scrubbed within a day.
Leave the mowing to the optimally primed lawn transformers that are heavy on power and surprisingly light on explosions and finally show that inefficient neighborhood boy how lawn care is done (typically $40 for a quarter-acre lot). If you're losing beachballs, babies, and venture capital in a backyard nest of weeds, have a three-man crew swim through the shrubbery pruning, bed cleaning, and weeding to beautify your outdoor areas ($90/hour). Allow the experts to tuck plants into beds, hang flowering baskets ($20 per piece), or install plants as large as 3 gallons (four-plant minimum, $100 total).
More than a decade ago, Harrell Spencer landed a job with a carpet-cleaning company. He enjoyed his work so much that he eventually bought the business and dubbed it Ultimate Carpet Cleaning. A resident of Memphis for 34 years, Harrell keeps his good name in the community by quoting honest prices and backing his work with a satisfaction guarantee. After a light preconditioner, he extracts carpet stains with deep-steam-cleaning techniques and eliminates odor-causing bacteria with live enzymes. In addition to purging rugs, Harrell scrubs ceramic tiles by hand and dries them with high-pressure heat to extract grease and grime. Once they’re clean, he can seal the grout to give them a glossy finish that repels dirt so well you can't even write dirty language on it. In the event of an emergency, Harrell springs into action both day and night to help repair water damage.
