Driven by a passion for Kundalini music, GuruGanesha Singh founded the label Spirit Voyage Music as a haven for himself and the many musicians with whom he worked. The demand for his music proved to be high, the business quickly outgrew his garage, and Karan Khalsa and Hargobind Singh took over the full recording and distribution businesses.
The label now organizes celebratory festivals of Kundalini yoga and music across the country, naming them after their first employee, Sat Nam Kaur, who helped the organization blossom in its infancy. Spirit Voyage’s online store sends music, yoga DVDs, books, and apparel across the country to those who can't get to the festivals because of distance or the inability to teleport.
When 20-year climbing veteran Zeke Federman started a rock-climbing guide service, he needed to situate its headquarters someplace that was more than simply rocky. The spot he settled on falls squarely in Joshua Tree National Park—an area boasting a varied landscape and steady climate that is friendly to year-round mountaineering and offers challenging routes to both beginners and experienced climbers with their own pet mountain goats. Zeke's climbing academy, Joshua Tree Guides, sets its students loose on guided excursions across the region's higher-altitude cliffs. His staff of Professional Climbing Guides Institute–trained guides has won points with clients for combining an easygoing demeanor with a serious attentiveness to safety and the needs of beginners to go slowly. In addition to small groups, the company has also guided successful climbing outings for large corporations such as Google and Frito-Lay.

For the team of dentists at Cornerstone Dentistry, cosmetic dentistry is about more than just good looks. So although he leaves mouths looking impeccable with implants, full-mouth reconstructions, and rhinestone-bedazzled canines, he never loses sight of the primary concern of any procedure?ensuring healthy relationships between the jaws, teeth, and facial muscles.
With an approach described in Palm Springs Life as "concierge health care," Cornerstone Denistry sees far fewer patients than the typical dentist or armchair psychiatrist, giving each patient greater attention. The dentists find they can maintain a higher standard of work with these longer appointment times while also building a friendly rapport with their patients. The dental group plans to open a third location in Glendale this June.
