Strength of the Hands' logo has ten fingers, and the staff offers almost as many types of massage. Deep-tissue melts away aches with firm pressure, while Swedish involves long, flowing strokes. The seven massage therapists also specialize in the soothing heat of hot towel massage and assuage the pains of expectant mothers with prenatal massage. Beautification is just as important as relaxation, as the service menu also includes facials, body waxing, and barnacle removal.

Dr. Jolanta Pajek opened Modern Touch Dentistry after practicing in Toronto, CAN and Milwaukee, WI. At her modern, Appleton practice, she approaches dentistry with technologies such as Cerec, (one-appointment porcelain-crowns), low-radiation digital x-rays, laser gum treatment, and Zoom whitening. For patients with anxieties about dental work or wearing paper bibs, Dr. Pajek offers free sedation consultations to discuss whether their conscious-sedation option would make their appointments more pleasant.

A specialist in jaw orthopedics and orthodontics, Dr. Robert Hering founded Fox Valley Dental on the quest for sturdy jaws and straight bites. Since 1975, he has corrected maxillofacial flaws through more than 600 TMJ cases and 4,000 orthodontics cases, working both with traditional braces and Invisalign aligners. For those plagued by sleep apnea, he helps clear breathing pathways with mouthpieces that are easy to hide in a spouse's sandwich.

Dr. Hering’s office design betrays his fondness for the outdoors. Row upon row of windows throw the waiting room open to natural light, which falls upon rustic wooden fixtures. The operatory's French doors look out over a lawn enclosed in shrubbery, where woodland creatures find privacy to pick bits of acorn from their braces.

Sprawling across three sections of a centuries-old building, Salon Mode & Daydreams Spa welcomes guests into a homey, historic space with hardwood and tile floors, an etched tin ceiling, and a warm fireplace filled with flickering logs. Patrons relax in salon chairs while stylists refresh their hairdos using scissors, dye, and Aveda products based on pure flower and plant essences. In more-private settings, massage therapists aim to relax the mind, body, and soul. They glide their hands along tense musculature and incorporate aromatherapy to help clients calm their minds or hot stones to further soften knots. The beauty pros also focus their attention on smaller areas, such as tinting eyelashes or pampering faces with a selection of facials.
