Derek Burns's hard-earned muscles are not only hard to ignore, they also come with a long history. It all started when Derek was 5 years old and first started playing football. He quickly fell in love with sports and started building a skill set that would stay with him his whole life. He later took those athletic abilities overseas during his eight years in the Navy, where physical fitness became an integral part of his everyday. Upon returning to civilian life, he decided to follow through with his passion for fitness and earned his certification as a personal trainer.
For more than 15 years now, Derek has helped people transform their lives through his fitness programs that include personal training and group fitness. He also works with athletes to up their game or avoid being mistaken for the ball with sports performance training.
Roger Mack comes from a place of experience when he trains clients to overcome their obstacles, both literally and figuratively. In 2004, he qualified for the Olympic Games Trials in the 110-meter high hurdles, but a knee injury cut his quest short. He barely missed a beat, though, using his passion for health and fitness to land gigs such as training members of the green team from season six of NBC's The Biggest Loser.
Today, as a trainer certified by the National Academy of Sports Medicine, he leads his signature R2|M2 boot-camp-style fitness classes. These sessions combine body-weight exercises, weightlifting, and stamina work to help clients boost metabolism, gain strength, and refine body definition.
