Texas Handgun Academy houses an indoor, air-conditioned shooting range.
For range qualification, Texas Handgun Academy rents 9-millimeter handguns.
At Texas Handgun Academy, state-licensed instructors focus on teaching concealed-handgun-license classes.
Instructors at Bullet Trap call upon their onsite range and classroom space to teach courses, most of which focus on helping students qualify for a concealed-handgun license. Beyond that, they go over the fundamentals in beginner handgun lessons and work with students during private sessions. The range connects to a 4,200-square-foot showroom, where the staff advises on arms, ammo, and accessories.
Elk Castle Shooting Sports was originally founded as the Ewell Cross Gun Shop in 1947. Since then, the store has grown into an all-encompassing emporium with new, used, and consignment firearms and firearm accessories. Elk Castle's gunsmith, lovingly nicknamed Big Dave, has customized and repaired a weapon from many of his customers.
While classroom instruction takes place at either Providence Towers or the Regency Hotel Conference Center, Elite Handgun Academy's teachers give their students practical experience at a private, instructors-only range located in North Dallas, which features eight indoor, climate-controlled lanes.
The firearm selection includes more than 40 handguns, including models from Glock, Beretta, Smith & Wesson, Sig Sauer, Springfield Armory, H&K, and Desert Eagle.
Elite Handgun Academy's curriculum of classes was designed and founded based on one singular concept: teaching the basic knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary for safely using handguns. Run by NRA- and Texas DPS?certified instructors, the academy puts an emphasis on practical and responsible gun use and ownership.
Though the instructors at Dallas Concealed Carry recognize that some people want intense drill-sergeant-style training, they prefer the relaxed approach. The instructors maintain a light, friendly atmosphere with lively classroom training bolstered by multimedia presentations. They teach the basics of marksmanship and lead classes such as the certified concealed-handgun-license course, which includes classroom instruction taught by a certified instructor, range instruction with a certified firearms instructor, a range-proficiency test, and help filling out all the necessary paperwork to apply for a license.
