As he was growing up, Isaac Ho wore a sweater outside for all seasons in hopes of disguising a heavy frame. When he did shed his unwanted pounds through exercise, he still felt somewhat unfulfilled—the routines to which he had devoted countless hours didn't strike him as efficient or fun. He began to experiment with fitness techniques, amassing a list of methods that produced results without sacrificing safety or endorsing quick fixes, such as wearing water wings under your clothes. His research led him to become a certified personal trainer and weight-loss specialist, and his drive to educate others has inspired doctors, gym owners, and fellow fitness experts alike. Today, Isaac runs BeFit Tacoma as the culmination of his trials and subsequent discoveries. He enlists other personal trainers based both on their skills and their personalities, believing that charisma goes a long way toward encouraging clients. Inside the private facility, programs from boot camp to semi-private training spark a metamorphosis in guests. Isaac receives clients at any initial fitness level and guides them on their quest to lose weight, tone muscle, and eat healthily, assuring them that "it's not where you start, it's where you finish."
Innovative Fitness is a private personal training studio that offers one on one personal training, group training, nutritional services, retail juice bar and supplements. We individualize each clients program based on there individual health and fitness goals.
The fitness instructors at Studio SWE keep their classes accessible and fun. They welcome clients of all experience levels into group classes such as Zumba, core work, and boot camps, which incorporate kettlebell exercises and just the perfect amount of blinking. On select nights, the studio transforms into a party venue for line dancing classes.
These two gyms work in tandem to improve their clients' fitness by focusing on crossfit training, an exercise regimen that strengthens the body's core. To strike the perfect balance of support, competition, and camaraderie, classes are taught in small groups of no more than 15 sweatband-sporting students. Trainers begin each class by warming up your body with guided stretches and a few minutes inside a preheated oven. Once muscles are melted and limbs are limber, your trainer will surprise you with a regimen of brow-beading exercises that boosts strength, agility, and speed. Trainers will closely monitor students, giving them personalized feedback and suggesting modifications tailored to their skill set and needs. After a final cool down, students will be free to use their newfound strength to create shortcuts through life's many inconveniently placed walls.
ELEV8's studio environment acts as an accessible arena for fun and challenging co-ed and women-only fitness classes that cater to shape-shifters of all experience levels. Greet the sun with something other than a curse and a strong fist-shaking with the Sunrise Yoga course, which uses soft morning poses to ease students into a state of total awakeness. For something more intense, opt for an invigorating Zumba class and get a fat-blasting aerobic workout while honing your Latin dance moves. ELEV8 also offers mat Pilates and Yogilates, a yoga/Pilates hybrid that lets indecisive centaurs experience the best of both workout worlds.
Whether they are coaching athletes or leading boot-camp classes, the trainers at The Xtreme 18 reach beyond verbal motivation to inspire their students with individual attention, specialized training, and a community support system. Inside their gym, a trove of advanced fitness equipment challenges muscles to rethink monotonous routines. The ThunderBell—a modified dumbbell with handles on either end—can act as a kettlebell, barbell, or scepter for summoning Thor's strength during weightlifting workouts. Staff members might also attach resistance bands to various body parts for agility and plyometric drills, limbering and strengthening physiques for a boost in sports performance.
Though its gear strikes many as high-tech, The Xtreme 18's setting is accessible and family focused. Classes grouped by age welcome students as young as 6 to tackle bodyweight exercises and endurance trials, pushing them toward a lifetime of healthy habits and fitness.
