The staff at Smiley Med Spa and Wellness Center take on body, mind, and spirit issues using a holistic approach to well-being. This philosophy inspires the duo to rout out the source of dermatological issues rather than temporarily hide visible symptoms. Since specific skin anomalies call for precise treatments, the center boasts an array of facials, chemical peels, collagen treatments, and injectables, performed by Dr Smaili, that cater to quelling signs of aging, mild scarring, acne problems, and uneven skin tone.
Opened by Dr. Tarick Smaili in 2011 as an extension of his plastic-surgery practice, the California Surgical Institute, Smiley Med Spa and Wellness Center provides medical aesthetic services to treat skin conditions and contour the body without undergoing surgery or sleeping inside a mannequin.
The aestheticians at On Cloud Nine Day Spa revitalize complexions by integrating spa niceties, such as paraffin wax dips, into advanced treatments. Pevonia emulsions cultivate glowing skin with natural ingredients, the effectiveness bolstered with infusions of collagen and oxygen or gentle exfoliation with a mechanized diamond-studded wand. In the face of stubborn scars and stretch marks, expert hands can reach for products designed for pre- and post-op skincare from the Medicalia line. On Cloud Nine Day Spa's own line of aromatherapeutic essential oils deepen relaxation during all eight styles of massages, all of which incorporate hot stones. Bodies stay smooth and lithe with help from an FDA-cleared mechanical massager, strips of wax, and the example set by a Hatha yoga instructor's snake hand puppet.
Massage therapist Laurelle relies on the certified skills of her nimble fingers to gift backs with deeply relaxing treatments. During the hot-stone therapy massage, Laurelle heats smooth stones and places them at energy points along the body, warming muscles and boosting blood circulation. Laurelle cossets guests for 40 minutes, 60 minutes, or 90 minutes, allowing them to match their massage to how long they are comfortable leaving vintage Lego sets alone in the car. Purple accents speck the cool color scheme of the salon, where diaphanous plum curtains complement sage-green walls.

When and how did you first develop a passion for your work?
Working for a dermatologist for many years, I developed a true passion for the medical side of aesthetics. I love helping others get to their desired results. I personally suffered from acne, so having the personal struggle ha[s] pushed my passion for my work.
What is the best reaction you?ve ever gotten from a client?
Tears of joy. We have clients that are cancer survivors and all they want is their "Normal" self back.
What steps do you take to make your clients feel at ease?
We love talking to our clients. Communication is key, we love to find out what are clients' goals and hopes are for their treatment.
Registered nurse Linell Wagers began her career providing care to those suffering from life-changing and life-ending diseases. It made her very aware of the importance of taking care of your body, and she eventually opened Premier Body Sculpt, which uses noninvasive fat-removal treatments to decrease a client's risk for cardiac disease and diabetes, as well as to boost their confidence.
Technicians at her med spa combat stubborn fat with fat-cell-shrinking ultrasonic-cavitation treatments. The three-in-one ultrasonic treatments use vacuum suction and radio frequency, as well; the vacuum suction helps in the sculpting process of the melted fat cells to the lymphatic drainage, and the radio frequency helps tighten skin.
Premier's technicians also use radio frequency and ultrasonic waves on faces and necks to make skin look tighter than Scrooge McDuck's grip on his wallet. Or they simply correct skin damage with facials and peels.
At Ayurveda & Massage Therapy Clinic, certified massage therapist Danae Delaney employs Ayurvedic techniques to correct bodily and mental imbalances. For instance, during a typical treatment, Delaney might mollycoddle the body with a detoxifying and moisturizing Abhyanga massage before calming the mind with the takradhara technique of pouring buttermilk on the forehead. For more extensive balancing or in case they want to save the buttermilk for their cereal, patients can schedule a three-, five-, or seven-day cleanse that features a steady dose of herbs, yoga, and body treatments.
