US Bus Utah's namesake vehicle is a common sight on the streets of Salt Lake City; in fact, it's almost impossible to miss. The open-topped bus snags sightseers from around SLC for hop-on, hop-off tours of local landmarks such as the Cathedral of the Madeleine, Hogle Zoo, and Clark Planetarium. The bus runs a continuous circuit from 9 a.m. until 5:30 p.m., seven days a week, giving sightseers a chance to catch a ride back from their adventures once they're done exploring.
As featured on the Travel Channel, Castle of Chaos conjures screams and scares for all those who enter its nightmarish realm. Spooks await visitors within the mansion, asylum, and dungeon at the Friday the 13th-themed Taylorsville location while the Riverdale facility coaxes guests into its creepy 3-D carnival and a haunted house modeled after the seven deadly sins. Riverdale participants can also settle into a coffin for a simulated journey from mortuary to graveyard or explore a menacing midway's games, live entertainment, and concessions. Continually rearranged rooms at both houses ensure that feng shui is maintained and repeat scare-seekers will frequently embark on new trips of terror.
Park City was founded as a mining town, filled with miners that purportedly drank, gambled, frequented brothels, and committed crimes. Park City Ghost Tours? guides delve into this illicit history during 70-minute walking tours. They investigate the sites most known for hauntings and chills while relaying the harrowing history of each. Tours begin nightly at 8 p.m., when the sun is thoroughly below the horizon and it gets harder to tell the difference between a zombie and a parking meter.
The Benson Grist Mill seems like it would be a perfect location to hide out in the event of a zombie outbreak. The mountains to the east cut off the incursion of wandering hordes, and the crumbling stone walls provide some measure of cover. However, these seemingly protective traits bear little use when the undead have already overrun the mill, turning the historic area into a kettle for lost souls. Only the foolhardiest of interlopers would attempt to make passage there.
Food lovers take small groups of guests on tours of top-rated restaurants in Park City. Chefs come out to chat with the group, answering questions and doling out cooking advice, as well as sharing the restaurant's history and philosophy. On the tour, guides usher guests down the historic Main Street while sharing the history of Park City.
