At Punch Boxing for Fitness, visitors experience an entire boxing match without having to dodge a single punch. That's because the gym's workouts are staged in three-minute rounds where exercisers jab heavy bags, shadow box, and boost their heart rate by jumping rope. One-minute breaks let them catch their breath in between toning muscles and building cardio endurance, not to mention mastering proper punching technique. Punch Boxing for Fitness' expert trainers shape each hour-long training session around beginning and advanced boxers alike; in fact, many pros, including Roy Jones, Jr. and Winkey Wright, have trained there.
TITLE Boxing Club began as a cocktail of talents: the fighting prowess of former professional boxer Danny Campbell, the acumen of businessman Tom Lyons, and the top-of-the-line gear from Title Boxing, LLC owners David Hanson, Tony Carbajo, and John Rotche. Hanson, Carbajo, and Rotche provided the gym’s equipment and outfitted the first location with an onsite pro shop. Campbell put together two signature Power Hour workouts, one based on boxing and the other on kickboxing. Lyons took care of the franchising, and the club has spread all over the nation.
The Carrollwood and Brandon locations both boast dozens of 90-pound heavy bags built into floor-to-ceiling black metal frames. Drumrolls of punches and kicks resound from these inanimate foes as patrons burn calories and learn self-defense moves during hour-long boxing and kickboxing fitness classes. When the workout's over, they head to the pro-shop area, where padded cage walls neatly separate the goods from the rest of the gym and provide a safe haven for viewing merchandise.

Manny Cabrera holds a fourth-degree black belt, and he's not shy about sharing his knowledge with others. He and his trained staff at Sidekicks Family Martial Arts Centers are eager to demonstrate the ins, outs, and high kicks of tae kwon do and krav maga to students of all ages.
Adult programs focus on self-defense and fitness, with a dedicated Krav Maga program that includes free nutritional guidance. Kids' programs don't just teach youths to defend themselves against rogue gym-class punching bags. The center's classes, summer camps, and afterschool programs instill kids with ambition, discipline, and respect for themselves and others.
Ross Kellin, owner and head instructor of Champions MMA, knows a thing or two about marital arts. He's not only a black belt in Brazilian jujitsu but a licensed boxing and mixed-martial-arts trainer and manager. His unique perspective of the sport, both in and out of the ring, has raised his team of fighters to become a powerhouse in the industry.
But Kellin, a Lakeland native, doesn't just concentrate on his rising fighters. He also turns his careful attention to kids, offering after-school programs, summer camps, and even birthday parties. And, for clients looking to up their fitness sans cage match, Champions MMA hosts a cardio-kickboxing program that uses Tiger Vascular Boxing Fitness workouts to obliterate calories.
When a terrible car accident left him confined to a wheelchair, in constant pain, and battling weight gain, Dieuseul Berto vowed to rehabilitate himself from the inside out. He adapted a fighter's training regimen to his own limitations, and soon developed the Tiger Vascular program.
Today, at Tigers World Tampa, Dieuseul leads groups through high-energy classes that incorporate techniques of boxing, mixed martial arts, and self-defense. A carefully selected team of trainers joins Dieuseul, and each member of the faculty comes from a distinct fitness background. Most importantly, perhaps, is the fact that Dieuseul and his team also possess firsthand knowledge of what it takes to undergo dramatic physical transformation. They use that familiarity to connect with and inspire clients on a personal level to push them ever closer toward the peak of physical fitness, where the air smells faintly of sweat and all the birds are super-ripped eagles.
