Whether cuddling a tiny spotted piglet, nuzzling a baby goat, or cradling a fuzzy bunny, it's nearly impossible to suppress affectionate coos during a visit to Little Vine Petting Zoo. The zoo abounds with creatures of all kinds, from gentle donkeys to soft alpacas to one spiny hedgehog. Ponies and horses trot down the trail with wee riders on their backs, guests can opt for hay rides, and take pictures inside of rustic stagecoach. Ambling down a tree-lined road, the farm’s colorful train transports guests around the area. The cheerful farm staffers also host bashes onsite and can travel for on-location parties, bringing along ponies and animals to delight guests at birthday parties or confuse bridesmaids at weddings.
As a USDA–licensed petting zoo, the farm owners pride themselves in caring for their animals as an extension of their family. When they’re not introducing their barnyard companions to visitors, the owners breed and show Nigerian dwarf goats as a full-time goat farmers.
For all that South Side Riders does for people?from lessons to trail rides to children's pony parties?it's their horses that benefit the most. The saddle club rescues its horses from less-than-ideal situations across the state and trains them to become gentle, friendly animals that can fulfill the role of a riding companion or a model for saddle fashion shows. The noble steeds carry riders during lessons as well as trail rides, which either follow a path along neighboring streets on the Urban Ride or traverse acres of trails through Boundary Waters park.

In the billiards hall, games of pool let friendly combatants enjoy more clattering sounds made by round objects.
Horseplay Enterprises galloped into existence in 2011 under the guidance of founder Marion Berry. With gushing pride in their family of animals, Marion and his own family of humans invite visitors of all ages to engage their inner explorers during horse-related adventures. Nature trail rides, for instance, explore the facility’s surrounding scenery. Each ride begins with a bit of training, which ensures riders remain safe and know how to roll up their horse’s windows should it start to rain. Marion and his staff also train the next generation of competitive riders with lessons in varying riding styles, and offer up a celebratory whinny with appearances at birthdays and parties.
