Outside the Arcade

Family Arcade also rents a wide variety of entertainment equipment—including jukeboxes—to restaurants, movie studios, and other businesses. Over the years, the Pecks have supplied pinball machines and other games to be used as props in a number of films and TV shows.

Meet the Family Behind the Arcade

The Peck Family, Circa the 1970s
Family Arcade lives up to the first word in its name. In 1971, Harry and David Peck founded the company, an arcade and supplier of coin-operated amusement equipment. Over the decades, they've amassed countless pinball machines, arcade games, pool tables, and much more.

The Peck Family, 40 Years Later
Harry and David are still at it more than 40 years later, now with the help of sons Robert and Stephen.

Peekaboo Playland is a safe, creative indoor playground for children aged nine or younger. Located on bustling Colorado Boulevard in Eagle Rock, the airy and colorful space welcomes families to play on the wide array of playground equipment, or kick back with any one of the many toys on hand. This is a shoe-free zone, of course, where kids can climb and jump for hours without getting scraped up, making it a perfect weekend destination for special events like birthday parties. At under $10 per child, Peekaboo offers a local alternative to parents looking to give their kid some play time, and longer play passes mean repeat visits are a cinch. Areas of particular interest for tykes include a Mother Goose play fort, a plastic kitchen nook, beach room and several slides. There’s also a bounce house on premises and a boutique area upstairs.

Sky Zone fully embodies the concept of bouncing off the walls, as the facility is lined with gigantic trampolines on the floors and angled trampolines on adjacent walls. Ideal for people of all ages, shapes, and physical abilities, the trampolines unite to form one massive sea of bouncy terrain, upon which visitors can play or compete with hanging basketball hoops. Sky Zone is home to 3-D dodgeball, an interactive twist on the classic playground sport that has teams jumping and dodging at new heights. Additionally, the park is great for birthdays and special events. Serious boot camps and aerobics courses allow guests to get into shape and have fun at the same time, unlike running from a stampede of buffalo.

The sight of a medieval castle surrounded by tall cacti may seem anachronistic at first, but it's hard to question the image when one is trying to putt a mini golf ball into a grassy hole off the circulating paddles of a windmill. It's whimsical moments like this that make Golf N’ Stuff's name feel understated. Beyond the two lush 18-hole mini golf courses that draw year-round visitors, the entertainment center boasts go-karts, bumper boats, and more than 100 arcade games. Batting cages let both kids and adults perfect their swings. Visitors can refuel on hot dogs, Dippin' Dots ice cream, and soda at the snack bar.

The squash-savvy staff at Shawn's Pumpkin Patch flaunts a cornucopia of variously sized pumpkins to adorn fall festivities. Against a rustic backdrop of straw bales and cornstalks, pyramids of gigantic, medium, small, and mini pumpkins ($1–$80) sit ready to be taken home and carved to mimic the visage of a zombie or a beloved imaginary friend. Although not included in today's Groupon, Shawn's Pumpkin Patch also hosts pony rides, mini-train trips, and a petting zoo ($3–$6/person).
