An indoor paintball haven, Spokane Paintball Club boasts more than 13,000 square feet of open sprint space and obstacle laden crannies. A slice of the grounds is devoted to the scaled down speedball course, where fast and furious battles blast away. The remaining back space hosts a two story room-to-room tactical area featuring ramps, secret passageways, crumpled blueprints of Bond villain coups, and a slide and turn wall. By arming yourself with today's Groupon, Spokane Paintball Club will outfit you with all the necessary equipment, including a full air or CO2 tank, paintball marker, 500 paintballs, and a purple paisley carrying case. Between rounds of strategic, adrenaline-loaded pigment pumping, you and your fellow war paint warriors can amble about through the on-site pro-shop or simply bask in the glorious glow of the on-field accolades.

Defending a castle wall against attackers sounds like a medieval pastime, but at DoodleBug Sportz’s outdoor paintball field in Snohomish, it remains an immediate concern. Armed with semiautomatic or electronic paintball markers, two teams battle over the wall, darting among manmade bunkers, or retiring behind the wall to shoot through its crenelations. Referees patrol the field, ensuring fair play, and the bunker layout changes weekly to keep games feeling fresh. Though DoodleBug Sportz offers rentals, players also can purchase their own gear from a company shop, stocked with paintball guns and key accessories for the sport, such as second paintbrush guns.

Operation Milsim Paintball equips sharpshooters for four hours of weekend walk-on play on its 10 acres of outdoor fields. Pretend-mercenaries of all skill levels arm themselves with premium markers, air tanks, masks, and hot air balloon exit strategies before charging onto three fields dubbed TacTown, Bush, and OAS. There, players evade pigment-projectiles as they dodge behind stacks of tires, plywood structures, and abandoned cars, while referees maintain clean, safe games in adherence to Operation Milsim's rules and regulations. Visitors can restock their paintball palettes for an additional cost ($40 for 500 rounds) and check out the company's FAQs before arrival to enhance their experiences.

With a face hidden by a full mask and goggles, a player peeks out from behind a tree. In an unguarded moment, her opponent has stepped away from the bunker that had been giving him cover. She takes the opportunity to splatter him with brightly colored paint, then raises her marker in victory. As they do battle, teams roam across four separate fields lined with tall trees and stone obstacles sprawled over 10 acres. Staff members ensure safe play and that no one tries to fill their guns with hot sauce, and can call in to one of the surrounding pizza places for delivery.
