The stylists of Salon Suzette know that one size does not fit all. That's why they tailor their array of hair services for each individual client. Simple cuts for men, women, and children can reframe the face, while coloring services can even out hues, add dimension, or allow clients to blend in with a passing zebra. During each service, the team relies on top-shelf styling products from brands like Pureology, who make all natural, vegan serums.
Armed with scissors, foils, and a blowdryer loaded with hot air, Angelina updates looks at Agape Salon and Spa. She applies her hair-cutting expertise to both men and women, adding color or highlights to heads in lieu of telling her clients to wear stained-glass hats. She also pampers hands and feet during relaxing mani-pedis, which leave cuticles groomed and nails vibrant.
"Always believe in miracles," urges Believe Spa Salon's website. And with the salon nestled on a quiet residential street, with ferns, wildflowers, and sun catchers overtaking the porch, Believe looks like something out of a fairy tale where miracles do happen. Inside the eclectically decorated salon, stylists perform these mini miracles: curly hair become straight, dark hair becomes light, long hair becomes short.
But it can't all be chalked up to hocus-pocus. Believe's stylists are highly trained and specialize in different facets of beauty, including owner Sherri Sullivan. Sherri's dedicated nearly 30 years to hairstyling, with extra training in Alfaparf Milano coloring and making red and brunet color last longer. Her understanding of facial shapes and color techniques, along with client consultations, means customers walk out of the salon with hairstyles tailored to their individual looks and needs.
In addition to hair services, Believe staffers also apply makeup for special occasions, such as weddings or trips to upscale grocery stores. And in a little cottage out back of the salon, licensed massage therapist Amy Rose Boren performs relaxing massages that soothe and de-stress aching bodies.
In 1989, Glitz Salons' founder decided to open a salon with a philosophy rooted in working with others to make clients feel good. Twenty years later, the staff at Glitz Salons still mans their stations and lives out that goal. When not performing services such as haircuts and waxing, the crew at Glitz Salons gives back to its community by helping local high schools put on prom fashion shows and hosting fundraising events. A cohesive, supportive unit, the salons' stylists and aestheticians receive continuous encouragement to express their own creativity and implement innovative ideas into their workday. This freedom allows customers to reap the benefits of a staff that thinks outside the box, paints the box, then folds it into a mesmerizing mobile sculpture.
Massage therapist Danielle Ball received her certification from the Clarkston Institute of Massage Therapy in 2009, and has since partnered with Believe Salon & Spa to start her own practice, Pure Relaxation Massage. To pair with her specialty Swedish and deep-tissue bodywork, Danielle utilizes the Young Living brand of essential body oils with soothing essences of lavender, lemon, and peppermint. After shoulders melt under the sultry heat of a hot-stone massage, guests can question Danielle about her travel bodywork services to enjoy massages on-the-go without the hassle of stowing a massage therapist in a carry-on bag before flights.
Jen draws on more than 15 years in the permanent-makeup industry to fill in sparse eyebrows, augment lash lines with permanent eyeliner, and strategically trace on lip liner to counterbalance lip asymmetries.
