Feel Safe Gun Training rents semi-automatic handguns, including the CZ 82.
True to their company's name, firearms instructors Travis and Sherry Humphreys want their students to feel safe when handling guns. That shouldn't be too hard, thanks to their qualifications, which include NRA and Texas DPS certifications. In fact, Travis has been shooting since the age of five, and he served in both the US Army and Navy. One of his first firearms students was Sherry herself, and then the two started training friends and family. Along the way, they developed their own training method, which they now employ during CHL and handgun classes at Feel Safe Gun Training.
Big River Grill?s cooks culled from myriad culinary traditions when crafting their menu. Toppings as diverse as baked ham and chipotle mayo top pizzas, and 15 burger combinations include the Slammin? Dam burger piled high with fried cheese sticks, bacon, and housemade ranch. Kebabs, crab cakes, and gyros arrive on the plate with a choice of dipping sauce, including cilantro-lime aioli and basil pesto. The chefs mix and match Breyers ice-cream flavors and crumbled mix-ins to craft such custom options as chili-pepper pineapple, Twinkie bacon honey bits, and pretzel brownie cookie cake.
From within Stone Hill Shopping Center, Great Nails technicians live up to the salon's name by expertly refreshing hands and feet with an array of nail services. With more than 140 years of combined experience, the nail artists at Great Nails are well-versed in decorating fingers and toes with chip-resistant shellac polish, natural-looking Solar Nails French tips, flexible-yet-durable gel nails, and acrylic tips. During pedicures, feet are pampered with an exfoliating sea-salt and moisturizing honey-shea butter lotion that’s more soothing than napping in George Clooney’s laundry hamper, and reflexology sessions focus on relieving pains across the body by applying pressure to specific points along the feet. When not focusing on bettering the nails of adults and kids, Great Nails employs a Zerona body-contouring laser treatment that aims to painlessly reduce fat.
The chefs at La Pâtisserie by Oven-Fresh Delights satisfy sweet and savory cravings with a menu of handcrafted French-style pastries, sandwiches, and desserts. The Paris-Brest is a traditional dessert inspired by the Tour de France that fills a ring of pastry dough with rich hazelnut cream to resemble the tire of a bicycle or the donuts on strings used to train cyclists. A thick crust bookends raspberries suspended in whipped cream in the framboisier, and long prisms of succès praliné embed sweetened nuts in buttercream sandwiches. Letting influences from French kitchens shine through all the while, cooks stir pots of rich béchamel sauce and assemble croquet-madames, open-faced stacks of brioche, black-forest ham, and three types of cheese. Butter twists into savory dough for croissants, and from the oven drift scents that hint at spinach and leek quiches.

Across four compact, outdoor fields, goggled paintballers stealthily tread behind industrial-sized wooden spools and large inflated obstacles as candy-colored paintballs zip by. Teams of five to seven shooters might start by storming the citadel on Fort Field. After conquering the blockhouse through strategy and persistence, they can advance on the Hyperball field for a fast-paced game that relies more on reaction than strategy and teamwork. The tight quarters of the Spools field surround huge wooden spools left behind by giant seamstresses, whereas the Airball field spreads blue and red inflatables across a large swath of green grass to slow the action down. Teams can find respite between matches under the covered staging areas and refuel with snacks and beverages.
