Starting in 1998 in the Philadelphia suburbs, the women behind Art of Exotic Dancing have strutted and hip-rolled their way to the forefront of a surge of interest in fun, sensual movement. Dedicated to fostering a comfortable space where all participants feel safe, the certified instructors proffer encouragement and reassurance as they teach dances that emphasize self-expression, personal power, and natural movement. Women learn to dance to a full song during the 90-minute CoreMoves class, while the Signature Workshop fortifies confidence via flirtatious techniques such as sensual walking and slow-motion winking.

This diverse selection of training opportunities stands as a testament to ASBA's growth: the academy now has five facilities under its umbrella, totaling more than 90,000 square feet of training space. Multiple times throughout the year, ASBA sets aside its own training areas to host prospect camps at universities and stadiums. There, coaches and scouts can watch ballplayers in action, timing how fast they run, assessing their pitch speed, and seeing how well they hit with pool noodles instead of bats.
Master Pagano, the titular instructor at Master Pagano's Red Dragon Martial Arts, directs students of all ages and skill levels on the path to martial-arts mastery. He teaches simple hand-eye coordination exercises for 4-year-olds all the way to full MMA lessons for adults. In his Little Champions classes, he works to arm his youngest attendees with motor skills, listening skills, and self-confidence. As these abilities burgeon, he introduces more self-defense techniques and invites parents and children to train together in family-style classes. Once a student reaches 16 years of age, he ushers them into kickboxing and MMA classes, a mixture of fitness and advanced combat techniques. He teaches class six days a week, reserving only Sundays for rest and Friday nights for seminars or birthday parties, at which kids break piñatas with only their cold, hard stares.
Striving to instruct students not only in the martial arts, but also in valuable life lessons—such as discipline, respect, and focus—the instructors of Master Coleman's Lion Force Martial Arts welcome pupils as young as 4 years old to their classes. Kids can learn important self-defense skills during 30 and 40-minute karate classes, while those 17 or older can enroll in kickboxing classes to further develop under-the-table-shin-kicking skills.
