After their beloved cocker spaniel Reuben passed away, Pet Planet's mother-and-daughter founders opened their first store in 1996 to supply customers with healthy pet treats and toys while simultaneously educating guardians on optimizing their critters' wellness. Today, Pet Planet's ace management team oversees many locations throughout North America that dispense holistic-style pet food alongside grooming services, kennel care, training academics, and workshops for understanding the language of tail wags. Pet Planet avidly supports Kali's Wish Cancer Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to eradicating cancer in animals, as well as the Guardian Movement, which encourages humans to call themselves pet guardians instead of owners to create more empathic person-and-animal relationships.
Who is the Linda behind Linda's Quilt Shoppe? Well, for starters, she's a quilting expert who's been in the business since 1992. She's also the person responsible for assembling the store's more than 2,500 bolts of fabric. To most customers however, Linda is the woman who greets them with a friendly smile and helpful advice on creating their next quilt square.
Linda works alongside Jim Findlay, whose own business background dates back to a childhood spent in his father's store. With their powers combined, the Findlays sell pretty much everything a sewing or quilting enthusiast could possibly need, including embroidery and sewing machines. They also host a variety of sewing classes and "fat quarter" clubs, in which enrolled members received fabric samples and patterns every three months.
Outbound Cycle's active staff members use their knowledge of riding and racing to assist clients shopping through their selection of bikes from Rocky Mountain, KHS, GT, and Haro. Cyclists can also rent mountain or downhill bikes to take scenic jaunts through the lolling Okanagan landscape or have something to lean on when posing for photos. With the purchase of a new bike, patrons will get one free tune-up from the shop's technicians. Other services include everything from cable adjustments and suspension repair to complete bike overhauls.
Okanapure Water outfits homes and offices with BPA-free 18.9-litre bottles of crisp purified water. The aqua-mongers filter the water through a multistep reverse-osmosis process, and its Alkaline pH Plus H2O comes bursting with minerals such as calcium, potassium, and magnesium to help stave off maladies. The staff picks up spent bottles for sanitization and reuse, preventing the tremendous amount of waste that comes from throwing away 500-millilitre bottles or the mink vases filled with rainwater after a single use.

Thrive Naturals' story begins back in 1988, when the shop was arguably ahead of the natural-healing trend. Still run by a small team, the staff pride themselves on being highly knowledgeable about the store's vast inventory, which ranges from herbs to anti-aging supplements. Stop in for an assessment from the Zyto Compass, get some advice on doing a healthy cleanse, or figure out how to reverse the effects of a hot dog eating contest.
