At Shades of Beauty Dezign, an appointment is more than a haircut, makeup application, or facial—it's also a learning experience. That's because stylist Michelle and aesthetician Katana spend their time simultaneously beautifying their clients and teaching them how to replicate their looks at home. They do all of this in pursuit of a shared mission to make their clients feel more confident in themselves when they leave the salon.
Michelle Metzger has spent her 14 years in the beauty industry perfecting each of her specialties. Those include trendy haircuts and Coppola Keratin hair-smoothing treatments that reduce frizz and add shine. She also doles out expert blowouts using either a blow dryer or a hand fan, whichever the client prefers.

Ti Hong, the owner head stylist of Salon de beauté, has worked in the beauty industry for more than 20 years. Formally trained at a French salon in Saigon, he later moved to Paris where he honed his craft in a boutique salon for several years. Today, at Salon de beauté, he draws upon his international training to lead a team of hairstylists, manicurists, and aestheticians who deliver everything from customized facials and microcurrent facelifts, to spiral perms and extensions made from human hair. To calm frizzy ‘dos exacerbated by humidity or a head-on collision with a Van de Graaff generator, the salon also offers keratin hair-smoothing and Japanese thermal straightening treatments, both of which smooth and soften hair for several months.
