It can take a lifetime to fully master the intricacies of golf. Fortunately, Golf Professional Services is home to more than a dozen instructors who've dedicated their careers to that lofty goal. These coaches help adults and juniors to become complete players who can hit the ball straight and sink putts without replacing one hand with a putter head. Adult students advance through a five-level training regimen, beginning with an introduction to the game and progressing through on-course practice and video analysis.
In addition to helping grown-ups lower their handicaps, the training center is also home to the Junior Golf Foundation of America, a 501c(3) nonprofit founded in 1995. Using a trio of municipal facilities furnished by the Palm Beach County Parks and Recreation Department, the foundation gives all children the chance to learn the game and inherit its positive life values. Since inception, more than 65,000 youngsters have enrolled in the year-round program, enriching young lives while expanding the game to new generations.
Webert Benoit and Natalia Manusha are familiar faces on the professional dancing circuit; the two regularly twirl and dip at Professional American Rhythm competitions. When they're not competing, they can be found at Palm Beach Dancing, a studio with polished wood floors and floor-to-ceiling mirrors. In that elegant environment, Webert and Natalia guide individuals and groups through dances such as cha-cha, tango, foxtrot, swing, and rumba. A weekly dance party gives students the opportunity to showcase their skills in a relaxed environment.
Beach Water Sports matches patrons up with watercraft ranging from paddleboards to powerboats, and encourages them to explore the surrounding azure waters. Seafarers can opt for a relaxing day on a pontoon, even sneaking in some sightseeing on an excursion to Peck Lake to drop in on its populations of manatees and sea turtles. Those eyeing a more-thrilling time on the water can take a rented jet ski buzzing through Hobe Sound and Jupiter or try to start an ocean whirlpool by only paddling on one side of the standup paddleboard.
Tim Feld doesn’t try to rebuild golf swings. Instead, during lessons at Lone Pine Golf Club, he simplifies them, focusing on small changes that could produce large results. Tim has relied on this approach for more than 12 years, and has helped men, women, and junior golfers alike improve their games in the process. Today, Tim's lessons also include video highlights, which students can refer to while practicing at home or throw on the TV to enliven dull dinner parties.
Treasure Coast Surf's instructor Andres Arroyave has ridden waves in Colombia, Costa Rica, Panama, and Puerto Rico. Given this depth of international surfing experience, he doesn't have too much trouble teaching technique to beginning and intermediate riders on the East Coast. His methods see that individuals learn to stand up on the board and ride independently, while never interfering with the enjoyment and relaxation they derive from the sport.
