Additional amenities include heated indoor saline-water pools, a child activity area, and indoor tracks at the Raleigh and Wakefield spots. Each facility provides its own class schedule for the morning muscle marauders and evening-exercise enthusiasts seeking increased energy, stamina, and couch-dent resistance.
The staff at Creekside Women's Center—board-certified ob-gyn Henry N. Pleasant MD, Certified Nurse Midwife Wesley Tyler, and Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner Erin Wright—combine their medical expertise to provide women of all ages with comprehensive care. As each appointment begins, the boutique-style office welcomes clientele with its cozy foyer and cups of coffee and tea. Once inside private patient rooms, visitors slip into cotton gowns rather than ones made of paper or chain mail. Then the staff conducts health services such as annual checkups, primary care, family planning and menopausal treatments. Pleasant and his team also assist patients in achieving weight-loss goals through medically supervised programs and nutritional counseling.
Administered by a sonographer with nearly 20 years of expertise, each Babygram Imaging, Inc. session affords soon-to-be parents a peek at their future bundle of joy sleeping, yawning, and even smiling. During sessions that last anywhere from 10 to 30 minutes, 3D or 4D scans capture both still and moving images. To preserve those tender moments, the Babygram team creates prints, assembles digital images onto CD, and can even burn recordings of the entire appointment onto DVD.
Though Mariam Clinic offers free appointments and care to its patients, many of them require more expensive diagnostic laboratory tests such as lipid panels, prostate-cancer screenings, and routine bloodwork to furnish experts with full pictures of their health. Though the clinic can provide discounts on some laboratory tests to those in need, many clients are unable to afford even discounted laboratory tests.
Licensed therapist Gail Washington helps clients of all ages find relief from pain and stress through a humanistic approach to massage. Her holistic techniques coax bodies into self-healing states without cosseting them head to toe with regenerative starfish. When kneading individual clients or couples, she uses Swedish massage to promote relaxation and boost circulation. She can also draw on deep-tissue, trigger-point, and sports massage modalities to loosen tight knots and help prevent future injuries. When she isn't massaging sore backs, Gail soothes careworn scalps and fills the air with aromatherapeutic scents.
