A portrait of Mexican painter Frida Kahlo guards the entrance of Kahlo Salon, overseeing the creative stylists who cut, color, and sculpt hair armed with Redken and Moroccanoil products. Veronica Avila, salon owner and Redken master specialist weaves LOX hair extensions to add volume, length and color to locks and straightens follicles with Brazilian keratin treatments. Avila's list of achievements includes certifications in Pureology, Bosley, and LOX, as well as a certification as a Look Good Feel Better cosmetologist, which allows her to teach beauty techniques to female cancer patients in active treatment.
