In their no-nonsense gym, certified CrossFit trainers Dan Moss and Darin Moon lead intense, fat-blasting workouts that focus on functional movements and varied exercises. It's a method that works every muscle group, sheds weight, and inclusive, scaling up or down to all fitness levels and body types. During one-hour sessions, Dan and Darin motivate fitness enthusiasts to shimmy up ropes, heave heavy barbells, and hop on and off plyometric boxes in preparation for visits to Q*bert's home. Their schedule accommodates students Monday through Saturday, with each membership package including unlimited workout sessions and one-on-on attention.
Getting in shape after giving birth can be difficult; taking care of the baby takes a lot of time and leaves bodies weary and sapped of energy. Stroller Strides understands these common struggles and has designed an exercise regimen with new mothers in mind. All you need to get started is you, your baby, and a stroller. The classes, taught by specially trained instructors, usually take place outdoors and consist of a warm-up, a buggy-bandying power walk, and interval stations where participants do a variety of body-toning exercises. Instructors provide everyone with exercise tubing and, in the event of a fussy-baby episode, will show you exercises you can do with your baby.

Sweating to the oldies is acceptable, but sweating to the blues less so. Do you find that certain styles and genres of music generate more intense workouts?
Yes, we've found that certain styles and genres resonate with our different offerings. Students can expect to move to original playlists.
What is a typical session of your program or class like for a student?
The experience varies depending on class level and instructor. Our classes are taught by nationally certified instructors. Students can expect the classes to be challenging but accessible.
Is there anything else you want to add that we didn't cover?
We strive on building community by collaborating with local food, wine, wellness, and art communities to create our studio lifestyle events.
To help women achieve their fitness goals, the certified personal trainers at Get In Shape For Women focus on four areas: weight training, cardio training, nutrition, and accountability. In small group sessions, trainers modify exercises to suit up to four ladies' fitness levels, beginning by calibrating 30 minutes of strength-training drills—such as free weights, lunges, and squats—to each student's abilities. Then comes 25 minutes of cardio: the trainers might start novice exercisers with a walk on the treadmill or light elliptical training, and challenge more advanced exercisers to high-intensity interval-training sessions for enhanced results.
The trainers supplement the group workouts with nutritional planning centered around the concept of eating six small, balanced meals six days a week. They set aside the seventh day for a bit of indulgence, be it eating a favorite sweet or lusting openly after bacon. To track ladies' progress toward reaching their goals, the trainers measure their weight and body-fat percentage every two weeks.
You might not have guessed it if you saw the trim, muscular, and infectiously energetic Zumba instructor today, but there was a time when Granita Young was overweight. She enrolled in Zumba classes hoping to get into shape and was immediately grabbed by the lively music and the spirit-lifting dance routines. It wasn?t long before Granita had shed her excess pounds, earned her instructor certification, and began leading Zumba classes of her own.
Nowadays, at NZ Fitness, the seasoned instructor and her staff guide students of all abilities through Zumba and other energy-infused dance fitness classes. To supplement their skills, the team draws on a range of gear that includes maraca-like hand weights and Ripstix to build strength and sculpt muscles. Equally important to Granita and company is maintaining a non-judgmental environment and keeping class sizes personal and not overly crowded.
Owner Marcy feels she "was born to open Chrome Fitness," and with her twin passions of fitness and dance and a team of expert instructors, students are inclined to agree. On any given day, you might see pole dance pupils twirling and twisting on the five suspension trainers and nine poles striping her 1,800 square foot purple dance studio alongside a 10-foot-tall mirror. But that's not the only curriculum on the Chrome Fitness class list. There's also boot camp, Zumba, hip-hop dance, and yoga sessions, along with unique offerings such as Zumbooty and chair dance. Workouts tone and get hearts pumping, but they're also fun, which may be why Chrome is also a bachelorette party destination.
