Although she often was exhausted after coming home from her hectic nursing job in a coronary intensive-care unit, Krysia Maciuszko always found time to practice yoga. She would take solace in the rejuvenating poses, energizing stretches, and refreshing breathing exercises. Driven by her longtime dream to show others just how much yoga can restore a weary body and to finally be free to laugh at the word “angina” without being judged, Krysia eventually turned in her nurse's cap and opened up Krysia Energy Yoga.
Energizing music echoes across the hardwood floors of her 1,000-square-foot studio, where Krysia and her staff of certified instructors lead students through the movements of a variety of styles—from challenging Power Yoga to playful Ashtanga. Other days, they lead upbeat Zumba workouts that utilize Latin-inspired dance movements to blast calories. The yoga instructors not only teach regular students, but also aspiring yoga instructors during a comprehensive 12-week yoga teacher-training program.
Bally enshrines exercise classes, calorie-burning equipment, and a fitness-focused staff within its sanctuaries of health. A 30-day membership includes access to a spread of group exercise classes, including Pilates, Reaction Cycling, and Step Fitness (class offerings vary by location). For self-guided worker-outers, cardio equipment such as treadmills, elliptical machines, cross-trainers, and stair climbers torch calories while entertaining the brain with video entertainment and integrated music systems that occasionally whisper quotes from Charles Atlas. Bally also boasts an array of strength machines, free weights, and small-apparatus equipment, and grants gym-goers access to on-site locker rooms, showers, and, at some locations, a pool and steam room. Visit each location's webpage for a list of specific amenities and the lineup of classes.
As Beautiful Beginnings Infant Massage's teachers point out, the first sense a child develops in the womb is touch. Once born, a baby explores the world with its tiny hands, learning all sorts of information. That leaves touch as the first way parents can meaningfully communicate with their children.
The co-founders of Beautiful Beginnings Infant Massage believe that massage is a great way for parents to establish communication and trust with their kids. The benefits aren't just on the children's end, though. One of the founders says her favorite part of their work is "seeing parents gain confidence in their skills and watching the joyful interactions between them and their child."

Art At the Park's classes come in two main varieties: a BYOB session for adults, and a kids version for children four and older. In the adult class, students choose an example painting (or bring their own), then learn how to recreate it from a professional artist. The children's class begins with a theme of the week, using that to inspire kids to create an artwork of their own. Aside from these regular classes, Art at the Park also arranges private parties for birthdays and corporate events.
