At Flight Trampoline Park, jumpers of all ages defy gravity, scoring sky-high dunks on the basketball trampoline court, backflipping off angled trampolines, and rocketing in the air to dive into foam pits. Here, a group of more than 50 connected trampolines adds up to 15,000+ square feet of bouncy surface area, upon which, staff host everything from dodgeball games to boot camp classes. And, beyond hosting daily free-for-all open-jump sessions, the bounce haven transforms into Club Flight after 9 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, welcoming kids 14 and older to jump in the dark as the park is lit only by colorful lasers and the hopeful ideals of youth.
While bouncers focus on having fun, the first-aid- and CPR-certified staffers take safety seriously, and keep constant supervision to make sure everyone is following the strict safety rules. And, to ensure the littlest guests can bounce safely, the business also hosts a separate Kid Flight session for little ones younger than 6 years old.
Dependable Drive-In has emblazoned its four outdoor screens with the latest blockbusters for more than 61 years, piquing the admiration of Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reporters. As celebrity-saturated images illuminate the night, audience members can feast on popcorn and soft drinks from one of the three concession stands. A schedule of features including Happy Feet Two can entertain youthful spectators, and uproarious comedies such as Jack and Jill can amuse adults and fill the night air with sounds of hearty guffaws and nose-snorted sodas.
Established in 1832, J.J. Gillespie Gallery furnishes its walls with a wide range of art from American and international artists. In an attached workshop, a master framer meticulously preserves keepsakes inside custom wood or metal frames. The gallery also hosts an onsite art expert, who can appraise oil-based works or clean and restore them to their former luster.
Draped over the verdant Washington County countryside, Fort Cherry Golf Club's 18-hole course spans 6,205 yards of rolling, player-friendly terrain. The course's relatively open layout invites players to blast tee shots with their drivers or T-shirt cannons at nearly every non-par 3, as sparse tree lines offer little impediment to shots that find the rough, and the course's multiple sand bunkers loom by the greens—not the fairways. An adjacent driving range loosens up swings to perfection, and a practice green sharpens up putting strokes and helps players get a feel for how to read the course's subtle slopes and metaphorical flagsticks. With its own motel and a gourmet bar and restaurant, the club hosts all-day and overnight golf-outing packages for a restful pin-hunting vacation.
Course at a Glance: * 18-hole, par 70 course * Length of 6,205 yards from farthest tees * Course rating of 69.6 from farthest tees * Slope rating of 122 from farthest tees * Four tee options
