The instructors at Todd’s Martial Arts believe the practice of martial arts is a vehicle that can transport students to a place of greater self-confidence and self-control. Of course, the facility also recognizes that getting into shape and chopping down trees with roundhouse kicks are probably students’ priorities, too. That’s where Todd Sensinger comes in. As the head instructor at TMA, Todd is a second-degree black belt, and has been teaching and practicing the sport for 15 years. Todd and a team of certified instructors teach students ages six and up. They also maintain a clean, welcoming dojang, or “training facility.”
Owned and operated by AJ Davis, an experienced personal trainer and certified massage therapist, The One You offers a rejuvenating and invigorating selection of holistic fitness and health solutions. Training services keep clients in shape with comprehensive assessments, health maintenance, and workouts enhanced by a variety of toning tools including stability balls and weights. Stressed bodies can also opt to benefit from a 90-minute deep tissue massage, a service designed to decrease cranial stresses, increase circulation, and unfurl fibrous muscular folds into proud flags of pain-free freedom.
With machines set up in rows to encourage competition, many ordinary gyms cater to men's bodies and psychology, right down to the urinals that were "accidentally" installed in the women's locker room. At Curves, you'll move around a circuit of hydraulic resistance machines that have been designed to work with women's bodies and promote weight loss, protect against osteoporosis, and deal with arthritis. An experienced trainer is always nearby to help manage your machine maneuvering and your muscle making. Instead of fiddling with weight stacks and losing your momentum, the hydraulic machines use your body weight and fitness level to create resistance that matches your abilities, decreasing the risk of soreness or injury. Because traditional lift-and-lower motions create bulky muscles, each machine uses push-and-pull motions to create toned, lean muscles perfect for crushing a grapefruit without looking like you can.
