Inspired by the glamor of Hollywood, owner of Best At Beauty Enhancement (B.A.B.E.) KC Chavez strives to make each customer feel like a celebrity during customized skincare, waxing, and nail services. She combats blemishes, signs of aging, and paparazzi red eye with nine types of facials, nourishing skin with the nontoxic, botanical extracts and pure essential oils found in the paraben- and fragrance-free Bioelements line. Chavez uses formaldehyde-free CND Shellac polish to keep nails from chipping or oxidizing for up to two weeks.
Stylist Hayley Shoup works out of the full-service salon Xtreme Beauty, where she offers haircuts for women, men, and children. She also performs color treatments such as partial or full highlights, shampoo treatments, and blow-drying and styling. At the salon, customers will also find skincare, waxing, and cosmetic services.
The certified stylists at Bellezza Salon have specialties ranging from extensions and makeup to Brazilian blowouts. But when it comes to client attentiveness, they are of one mind. Before whittling away any unwanted tresses, the team consults with clients, listening to their wildest hair dreams and getting a sense of the clients' style. Then, they refurbish looks with cuts and color, sprinkling heads with professional products by Redken, Paul Mitchell, and Moroccanoil. Apart from the full menu of hair services, Bellezza Salon's versatile staff also primps clients with facials, full-body waxing, and acrylic nails.
Amore Day Spa?s owner Kelly Kim spent years honing her craft by working as a licensed aesthetician and product specialist before opening her own day spa in 2011. Born and raised in South Korea, she spent the first eight years of her career traveling between her home country and Seattle, making her particularly well-suited to address the needs of other busy women who often forget to make time for themselves. Together with her staff, Kelly doles out relaxation in the form of everything from tailored hot-stone massages to whole-body steam treatments that leave skin feeling soft and polished with help from salt or sugar scrubs. She can also cut down morning makeup routines with permanent eyeliner or employ full-body waxing services to trim seconds off long commutes by playground slide.
Proprietor and medical aesthetician Andrea Juck cut her teeth as a print model before a mounting interest in behind-the-scenes beauty work led her to cosmetology school. After receiving her diploma but prior to establishing My Serenity Day Spa, Andrea painted known faces in New York City, including the guise of Liza Minnelli for her 2001 Madison Square Garden performance opening for Michael Jackson.
The skills that Juck developed in the Big Apple serve her well at her current base—an intimate, sunny Temecula retreat dappled with portraits of Old Hollywood stars. Moving swiftly within yellow walls and between directors' chairs stationed beside a spa bed, she daubs clients' façades with cosmetics from Laura Mercier and Chanel in a method that resists creasing, fading, and incoming pies. With a day's notice, Juck also concocts custom facials fresh from organic ingredients—such as lavender, avocado, and yogurt—to hydrate and exfoliate weary skin, and she uses all-natural beeswax to uproot unwanted hair with minimal irritation.
In the 28 years since Kymberly Whitaker first started doing makeup, her professional life has been a cosmetic whirlwind. She's attended the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising, co-owned a medical spa, worked in medical aesthetics for renowned plastic surgeons, and served as Aveda's Southern California education director of skincare. Now in the comfort of her own aesthetic haven, PURskin Spa, she exercises her beautification chops by performing restorative facials, peels, and specialty waxing services. Her adoration of beautiful creatures also carries over to her second passion, horses, which she rides and enters into competitions.
