Karen Laing has followed her love for beautification down many paths, including attending school for aesthetician studies, acting as both beauty queen and pageant judge, and her current profession as a permanent-makeup artist. She meticulously draws on individual eyebrow strokes or enhances peepers with permanent eyeliner with the experience that comes not only from her extensive training, but also from having permanent makeup herself. In addition to makeup, Karen also individually bonds synthetic eyelashes to natural ones to create more lush and dramatic blinks, and treats signs of aging with wrinkle-reduction, sunspot-reduction, and other anti-aging therapies.
Salon Di Panache's Victorian turrets and inviting, wraparound porch give way to a shabby-chic interior filled with glittery chandeliers and plush antique chairs. If it weren't for strategic swathes of leopard-print fabric and the beauty products lining the dark-wood bookshelves, it would be easy to mistake the space for some kind of time warp. Pati and Andy, Salon Di Panache's owners, intentionally built upon the vintage charm of the old house, redesigning its interiors with studded manicure tables and purple velour curtains to put clients at ease and make any nearby ghosts jealous. The duo leads a staff of stylists, nail technicians, massage therapists, and an aesthetician.
Stylists refurbish hair with single- and double-process color and a range of hair- and scalp-conditioning treatments. The aesthetician soothes skin with Aveda's plant-based facials, back facials, body polishes, and specialty treatments, such as a rosemary-mint body wrap. The salon's massage therapists also express creativity with massages that fuse hot stones and botanical essences, as well as the Panache signature massage, conducted atop a heated water table.
Tropical-themed decor covers the earth-toned walls of Endless Summer Day Spa, where a massage room, hair salon, and gym converge. A palm tree shades a lineup of black lumbar-supporting leather chairs in the comfortable waiting room, where guests wait for salon or spa treatments such as the wrinkle-battling raspberry enzyme facial. The experienced staff helps patrons achieve their beauty goals, offering refining salon cuts, tanning, and skincare treatments. After cooling down from gym workouts, or attempts to scale the salon’s hydration station, guests can relax with a soothing massage.
Marlene J. Mash, M.D. and her staff know that while beauty may only be skin deep, confidence isn’t. The doctor has spent 20 years performing medical and cosmetic procedures that build her clientele’s self-confidence, ranging from intense pulsed light treatments to eyelid lifts and chemical peels. Regardless of the treatment, the doctor consults with every client to help them decide which, if any, course of action may be taken. Her treatments often continue outside of the office, with skincare products that the doctor prescribes or recommends.
