In the eyes of an exercise enthusiast, 700 Fitness looks like a playground. Heavy ropes, tall boxes, and mallets wait to be hurled or jumped on. Bars of different heights support bodies as they swing up into the air, and elastic, neon straps provide resistance for challenging body-weight exercises.

But much like a ventriloquist dummy, the equipment is useless without some instruction. With the help of 700 Fitness's trained instructors, students weave through fitness circuits, KO punching bags, and learn how to always win The Floor is Lava game during parkour classes for all ages.

CrossFit workouts are not meant to be easy, though they are meant to be accessible to students of any fitness level. They incorporate functional movements alongside elements of track, gymnastics, and weightlifting, encouraging students to push themselves through sequences of pulling, squatting, jumping, throwing, carrying, sprinting, and levitating. Yet every drop of sweat falls in a safe and supportive group environment. Here, the coaches ease into every workout. They begin each 60-minute class with warm-ups and a training session where everyone learns the proper lifting techniques for that particular day's exercises. Then, as required by law, the fun starts. Depending on the day's workout, exercisers complete functional exercises such as pull-ups, squats, and dead lifts—and quickly. Due to the exercises' functional-movement basis, they can be scaled for newcomers and regulars alike.
