Savannah Pet Sitters owner and operator Erica Deeb personally tends to pets in the homes of absent owners, and is fully trained to dispense first aid, CPR, and love to your beastly best friend. Erica’s services free up to three critters from the stress of an owner's absence with comprehensive care. The dog-sitting service ($25/day for one household) includes providing pooches food and water, two daily bathroom breaks, one 30-minute walk, and any needed medication. The cat-sitting service ($12/day) includes granting felines food and water, litter-box cleaning, and any needed medication.
The groomers at Tidy Dogs Grooming Spa understand that a beloved cat or dog is a part of the family, and not just a pet. In this spirit, they maintain an open-door policy so that owners can observe the entire grooming process, from the first dip in the bath to the last snip of the haircut. They make sure each bath is safe and sanitary with natural, soap-free shampoos or optional specialized shampoos intended for pets with issues such as excessive shedding, fleas, or mailman envy. In addition to its long list of services, the center offers complete spa packages as well as upgrades for teeth brushing and nailcare treatments.
When Michael Ammermon first went to school, his aim was to become a pediatrician. But when he began working with a local veterinarian, it seems he found his calling. Along the way, he met Myra Burnsed in vet school, who would become both his wife and business partner. Together, they operate Pooler Veterinary Hospital, where they and their animal-loving staff care for animals with the kindness of pet owners. For added convenience, they send reminders to clients so they don't forget their pets' next wellness visits, perform procedures on a heated surgery table, and even offer mobile services for elderly pets with mobility issues.
First and foremost, the Georgia Sea Turtle Center's mission is to provide ill or injured sea turtles with medical attention, nursing them back to health before—ideally—releasing them back into the ocean. Fortunately for the public, the center lets other wildlife enthusiasts visit their patients and hold up get-well cards to the viewing window. Inside Jekyll Island's historic power plant building, visitors watch marine biologists care for and feed the remarkable reptiles.
Through hands-on exhibits, the center offers additional insight into the natural lives of sea turtles as well as the threats that these turtles face along the Georgia coast. In addition to educating visitors about wildlife conservation, the Georgia Sea Turtle Center also supports ecological research programs that study ways to help the area's species survive even as their natural landscapes undergo drastic changes.

You can hear the dogs before you can see them: the sound of playful barks and panting as tails thump on the ground. The happy pups at In The Dog House spend up to 10 hours a day romping with like-sized dogs throughout the 7,200-square-foot play area at their disposal. The space is divided into four indoor and two outdoor areas, with larger dogs and smaller dogs playing in separate areas to prevent the little dogs trying to hitch piggyback rides atop the larger ones. Canines spending the night can lie down in their own individual, climate-controlled kennel.
