Originally opened in 1987, Shear Power pampers the Ranson community with indulgent spa and salon services that nourish the skin and the hair with botanically-derived Aveda products. The staff includes several stylists, an aesthetician and makeup specialist, a massage therapist, and an independent nail technician who operates out of the salon. These professionals all work together to spruce up clients’ appearances by designing a flattering hairdo, pampering and revitalizing visages, or using gel polishes to perform long-lasting mani-pedis.
Stepping into Hideaway Massage is like stepping into a seaside resort at dusk. Candlelight flickers against framed prints of starfish, seahorses, and nautical maps hung on blue and sand-colored walls while tinkling chandeliers hang above heated massage tables. Inside a private single suite, a fireplace crackles, its light casting a warm glow and keeping stressed-out Santas from stopping by uninvited. Within this relaxation haven, seven nationally certified massage therapists drape their clients with sheets as they unfurl more than 10 varieties of massage, employing everything from Swedish strokes to hot stones. Aromatherapy oils may fill the senses and heated towels may help ease clients' transition into a calm state of bliss, but either way, as their muscles unknot they can stay hydrated with complimentary spring water. Therapists also apply many of the same treatments to pairs during couples massages and soothe skin and muscles with add-ons such as seaweed body wraps, foot scrubs, and head massages.
The holistic specialists at ACN Wellness help bodies to heal themselves with acupuncture, chiropractic adjustment, nutritional guidance, and osteopathic therapies. They aim to ease maladies by finding and treating the root cause of the symptoms, rather than suppressing them with drugs or lots of television. Chiropractic doctors Viet Le and Francisco Fernandez are trained in a medley of integrative chiropractic and acupuncture techniques. Grace Lee manages pain, anxiety, and obesity with acupuncture and Oriental medicine, turning to supplemental methods such as acupressure, cupping, and electrical muscle stimulation.
Though it happened under unfortunate circumstances, Dr. Tara Urschel discovered chiropractic care at a very young age. At 12, Tara sought treatment due to injuries she received as a competitive figure skater. As she rebounded, Tara realized the benefits of chiropractic, and later, after teaching international athletes under the supervision of Olympic medalist Sergei Chetverukhin, she decided she wanted to help others achieve wellness in the same way. While training at New York Chiropractic College, she met her husband, Dr. Michael Urschel. Together, at Ashburn Medical Spa & Wellness Center, they help clients achieve optimal health through chiropractic care, neurological consultations, herbal medicine, and nutrition counseling.

Seasoned vascular surgeons Dr. Garth Rosenberg and Dr. Paul McNeill lead a knowledgeable staff in de-cluttering capillary-laced calves with contemporary sclerotherapy treatments at Capitol Vein and Laser Center. Experts destroy spider veins' superficial matrices of red, blue, and purple across legs by injecting slender microneedles under the skin to rapidly dispense a potent medication. The minimally painful sessions last 10–30 minutes depending on the number of areas treated and length of time needed for legs to achieve closure with their departing blemishes. Patients require zero downtime after the treatment and can promptly ditch the earplugs they used to keep legs' choruses of “The Itsy Bitsy Spider” from keeping them up at night. In out-of-office hours, Dr. Rosenberg and Dr. McNeill indulge an altruistic streak with a community scholarship fund and overseas pro bono medical care.
