The Women’s Club for Fitness and Wellness is an upscale, women-only wellness facility that helps bodies harness health through a variety of fitness classes, lifestyle coaching, and nutritional-awareness information outlets. Like a slow-motion ballerina, the extensive schedule rotates monthly, and some class favourites answer to names such as spin and sculpt, Zumba, Pilates, and power yoga. All of Women’s Club’s fitness equipment is specifically designed for a woman’s body. Pre- or post-sweat session clients can enjoy the cedar sauna to relax sore muscles or settle into the steam room to shoo away stress. For a cozy wind-down, guests can also lounge on the couch by the fireplace in the halcyon sitting room. A child-watch centre provides childcare services so you can workout sans weighty ankle-biter attachments.
Absolute Fitness for Women offers a supportive environment for ladies as they whip their bodies into shape. Workout options include chair yoga, Pilates and dance classes, and personal-training sessions. The gym also has tanning services that result in sun-kissed skin, a private saltwater pool for Aqua Fit classes, and a spa. Babysitting services are available six days a week.
The experienced J.A.M. Entertainment instructor schools guitar strummers, mandolin pickers, and bass pluckers on a wide variety of music styles in the privacy of his own fully equipped studio. A dedicated, Band Ayd Systems–supported musician and experienced stringed-instrument pedant, Joe Maio can train students one-on-one in acoustic, electric, and air strumming. His program combines music theory with audio jam tracks so that students can get an idea of what it's like to play among other instruments without having to assemble a garage philharmonic orchestra. Within his studio's quiet confines, students can pursue a course of study on guitar, mandolin, and bass, and learn to play Latin guitar, country picking, electric blues, Top 40 wailing, or classical bass music. Students can also opt for music-theory lessons, or a music-theory class dedicated specifically to guitar theory.
Owned by Anusara-inspired teacher Dianne Bondy, Eastside Yoga Studio nurtures students of all skill levels with a vast, accessible range of yoga classes performed in a caring, compassionate environment. Today’s Groupon provides apprentice yogis with the secret password to all classes, ensuring a comprehensive yoga experience. For a more strength-oriented option, the studio’s signature power class, Fusion, offers extra attention to both nuclear and anatomical cores. After mastering the basics, Eastside’s Follow the Yogini class gives students an opportunity to create their own unique rhythms, fashioning a chorus line of synchronized movement and breath. All classes at Eastside Yoga Studio are intended to help individuals work towards their greatest potential, and provide the fundamentals for developing strength, both of muscle, mind, and spleen.
For more than 30 years, the Canadian College of Health Science & Technology has helped its students forge new career paths into the fields of health care and information technology. Every instructor is currently employed in his or her area of expertise, allowing students to glean real-world insights that are unattainable from textbooks who have never even treated a patient. Each program also incorporates hands-on experience; the Registered Massage Therapy program, for example, lets students knead the muscles of real clients, and the Physiotherapy Assistant program includes a 200-hour clinical placement. Some of the college's other standout programs include an accelerated PC-repair-technician course and an accounting and payroll administrator program.
