To step back in time to when the cedars, oaks, and pines around Wellington Golf Club were first groomed and pared away to make room for fairways and greens would be to see a landscape at once familiar and different. The year was 1919, and the sounds of cattlemen driving herds up the Chisholm Trail would ring through the air, accompanying the sights of a town not 50 years old. Yet that early course's modesty would be recognizable—and very much part of the draw.
The designers kept much of the surrounding growth intact, forcing players to thread their tee shots down somewhat narrow fairways to span the 6,201 yards. This emphasis on accuracy soaks through to the rest of the course as well. The relatively small greens' fast bent grass demands deft iron play and a soft putting touch. And getting there through variable gusts is half the challenge. But Wellington Golf Club doesn't leave its clubbers stranded in that regard—a driving range holds tees at both ends so that drivers can calibrate to different wind directions without relying on their protractors and trajectory calculations.

Though it’s a locally owned location, America’s Mattress is a nationally known name. And just like its other branches, the Derby location offers more than 25 styles of Serta mattresses among other brand names including Perfect Sleeper and Tempur-Pedic. Around the store, one may hear the soft whisper of trained mattress experts as they help customers choose the right mattress and educate them on the proper sleep position to conjure up dreams of flying that don’t end in emergency water landings.
At Brackeen Chiropractic, Doctor of Chiropractic Paul Brackeen works to empower patients. After performing in-office services such as chiropractic adjustments, the practice's medical workers teach patients how to complete corrective exercises on their own. Along with nutritional-counseling sessions, they hope to help patrons lose weight and improve their health by tapping into their own strength. In treatment rooms, FDA-approved Zerona machines purr across bodies, harnessing the power of lasers like a mad scientist trying to impress a date.
When it comes to massage, the therapists at Body Wellness Massage Clinic leave no stone—or glass cup, in some cases—unturned. They take continuing education courses that help them master therapies from all over the world, and the result is a massage experience like no other. A recent addition to their repertoire is massage with cupping, which creates suction on the surface of the skin with glass cups. This suction can help pull toxins toward the surface, where they're absorbed by the lymphatic system and drained from the body. If you're after a more traditionally Western treatment, the therapists can accommodate your needs with a custom massage that combines only the treatments and techniques that you see fit.
After injuring himself during a high-school soccer game, Shawn Pomeroy couldn't shake an aching head and neck. He eventually saw a chiropractor to treat the pain, and found that it subsided after regular adjustments. Now a chiropractor himself, Dr. Pomeroy hasn’t lacked for loyalty: he still sees the same doctor for his weekly appointment. His nearly 15 years of experience have only strengthened his belief in the power of spinal science, which he practices at two welcoming offices.
Pomeroy Chiropractic Wellness approaches back, neck, and head ailments from both preventive and rehabilitative angles. The staff scout for subluxations—misaligned bones putting pressure on nerves—with exams and x-rays, soothe muscular tension with massage, and educate patients on proper spinal care by demonstrating how to floss between vertebral disks. As for adjustments, Dr. Pomeroy can utilize his hands or a chiropractic instrument to try to correct backbone imbalances. His focus on family care means that both parents and children can benefit from his personalized, gentle treatments.

The spa's packages combine services for extended relaxation sessions that loosen tightly wound bodies and set tense minds adrift as if in a sea of chamomile tea.
