Keizer Snap Fitness's around-the-clock gyms enable members to work on their physical well-being with a cornucopia of fitness equipment. With 24-hour access, members don't have to let The Man tell them when to help themselves to Snap's strength and cardio equipment, which features built-in TVs and other media diversions. For those who exercise during conventional hours, Snap's friendly, unintimidating atmosphere welcomes patrons of all ability levels, unlike schoolyard dodge-ball squads. For a dose of custom advice, patrons can seek out a personal-training session with a certified coach, who helps them assess and address their fitness goals. Clients reap the benefit of individual attention as a personal trainer helps them tackle weight loss, prepare for an arm-wrestling competition, or unveil the mysteries of arcane cable-weight machines.
After the birth of her first child in 2001, Baby Boot Camp’s founder and certified trainer and spin and Pilates instructor Kristen Horler wanted a postnatal fitness program that didn't require her to leave her baby at the door. Her solution was to start a suit of programs just for new and expecting parents where mothers could bond with their infants while soaking up the support and camaraderie of their peers. During Strollfit sessions, certified trainers and Radio Flyers equipped with outboard motors lead ladies through innovative routines that incorporate baby-filled strollers into yoga, cardio, and strength training. For long-term fitness, coaches encourage aspiring runners to break through the tape during the 5K training program, and Kristen's own Nutrition Solutions teaches the benefits of healthy-eating habits during a four-week program designed by registered dieticians.
Writer Ralph Waldo Emerson once said, “Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.” This sentiment inspires Evan McDaniel, the certified personal trainer who own Fitness Inspired Training Studios. To propel clients toward their goals both inside and outside the gym, he infuses small-group workouts with a hearty dose of motivation, encouragement, and excitement. McDaniel draws upon fitness-oriented bachelor's degrees and experience working for WebMD to devise an ever-changing lineup of workouts that challenge patrons with bodyweight exercises, cardio challenges, and a variety of functional training tools.
His signature boot camp, Total Training, zeroes in on participants' goals, from slimming down for weddings to gearing up for marathons or thumb-wrestling tournaments. During these 30-minute sessions, exercisers of all levels feed on the moral support of their classmates to heave sandbags, swing kettlebells, jump onto sturdy boxes, and stretch resistance bands. In addition to absorbing fitness and safety tips from the trainers, exercisers receive nutrition coaching, which teaches them how to make healthful food choices and to differentiate between a banana and a Twinkie.
