Atlanta Scuba & Swim Centers' enthusiastic team of instructors and dive masters infuses prospective divers with their passion for the life aquatic, teaching students of all ages to snorkel, scuba, and swim. To energize those on the fence about diving, the team offers a no-pressure introductory Discover Scuba experience, which teaches participants the basics and gives them the chance to breathe underwater to find out if scuba's for them. For those who know they want to be active divers, experienced instructors can put them through the watery hoops with open-water dives, during which students explore their underwater surroundings, swim with sea turtles and manatees, and help lost clownfish find their tiny clownfish cars. The team arranges for diving charters to locales teeming with aquatic life, such as the crystal-clear waters of the Bahamas and Bonaire. Additionally, the squad instructs kids how to swim, and an onsite retail shop is ready to equip divers for any aquatic escapades.
At Action Bartending School, instructors with more than five years of behind-the-bar experience train pupils in bartending fundamentals. During private workshops or classes that are capped at six, students practice their cocktail-making skills at their own station in an actual bar environment. They’ll learn what glasses to use for cocktails, how to make garnishes, and ways to signal their piano players to switch over to the minor key when a bad guy enters. Within one week, students graduate with their certification, at which point Action Bartending School assists them in finding a full-time bartending job.
Generations-old Thai family recipes and established Japanese cooking techniques continue to inspire the cooks at Fuji Hana & Thai Peppers. Hibachi chefs man the dining room's six tabletop grills and sear entire orders of scallops or filet mignon right in front of transfixed guests. Hibachi-grilled lobster tail even makes its way onto the restaurant's sushi menu, which includes 12 specialty maki selections that attempt to elevate sushi with sriracha sauce, dried cranberries, or cleverly disguised helium balloons. The Thai menu items remain more grounded in familiar flavor combinations, such as spicy basil fried rice and panang curry with coconut milk and dried chilies.
The colorful cuisine stands in stark contrast to the deep, soothing earth tones that fill the dining room. Hand-laid mosaic tiles complement the dark leather booths, and a 31-foot oak bar surrounds the sushi chefs and bartenders as they dexterously assemble orders.
