Miami Valley Shooting Grounds has been a destination for firearms training since 1953. In the decades since that grand opening, the company has grown into two locations?each with a retail store stocked to capacity with rifles, handguns, knives, and accessories. Onsite ranges and classrooms also make ideal training grounds, where instructors lead sessions that accommodate all skill levels.
The knowledgeable staff members at AimHi, many of whom shoot hundreds of different firearms each year, call upon their expertise to recommend various guns to customers. The instructors, meanwhile, provide a safe shooting environment while teaching classes focused on subjects from basic handguns to firing an AR-15.
Steven Garavuso wanted The Bullet Ranch to be different from other ranges. After a 17-year career in law enforcement, the NRA-certified pistol instructor sought to create a welcoming and inviting facility where visitors could feel comfortable and?most importantly?safe as they learned, practiced, and purchased new equipment. This dedication to a condescension-free environment permeates the center's classes, which include safety courses for various firearms as well as concealed-carry weapon training. Firearms, apparel, accessories are all available for sale, and the onsite gunsmiths lend their services by performing maintenance inspections and detailed cleanings. The Bullet Ranch also features an outdoor archery range with 10 90-foot lanes and movable targets.

More than 7,000?that's how many people Armed2Defend's instructors have trained to obtain concealed-handgun licenses in the state of Ohio. Yet that number only accounts for a portion of their clientele. With more than 100 instructors and range-safety coaches in the ranks, Armed2Defend also hosts defensive pistol training, NRA instructor training, and a women's-only pistol-shooting group.

Urban Tactical Defense Center’s diverse team of trainers includes lifelong martial artists, former military personnel, and current police officers. Within the 8,000-square-foot facility—with two sparring rooms and a gym—these trainers pass on the self-defense and fitness techniques they acquired during their demanding careers to students of all ages, covering everything from defense tactics to proper firearms training. They rely on myriad approaches to boost health and self-confidence levels, imparting combat techniques during martial-arts and unarmed-combat classes; fending off calories in Combat Fitness Bootcamp courses; and bulking up entire bodies in circuit-training sessions. They even sprinkle meditation techniques from Chinese qi gong in some of their programs.
