When people walk into Stan the Donut Man, they often inquire if Stan is still around. Store manager Jodi Fryman says he’s not; after he ran the shop for more than two decades, he sold it to his then employee, Janet Foster—Jodi’s mom—more than 14 years ago. But Janet, Jodi, and their staff still use his original recipes to craft their from-scratch treats. All day long, they’re pulling caramel-iced cinnamon rolls, blueberry cake donuts, custard-filled donuts, and chocolate cupcakes fresh from the oven.
The bakers let everything cool before making deliveries to area eateries and stores, but at Stan the Donut Man, customers can choose from still-warm treats. Though the shops are on the small side, there’s indoor and outdoor space for people to sit and enjoy their treats, especially at the Xenia location, which has more seating. But the from-scratch donuts are popular by the dozen for customers to take back home or bring to office proms.

Along with baking other desserts such as gourmet cakes, crème brulee, and fresh fruit tarts, Cynthia prints pieces of white chocolate with custom designs, from business cards and portraits to the entire text of Ulysses in 0.0001-point font.
No two pizzas are created alike, but most of them look about the same. Not so at Jet?s Pizza, a carry-out and delivery-only establishment created in 1978 by brothers Eugene and John Jett?their signature pie layers tomato or barbecue sauce and melted mozzarella cheese within the crispy, brown right angles of a deep-dish square crust. But the crust?s charms don?t end there; diners can ?flavorize? it for free with seasonings such as shredded parmesan or the Turbo Crust, a blend of butter, garlic, and romano. These extras are what make Jet?s pizzas special; John Jett says ?If you're eating one of our pizzas and you don't have a smile on your face, then something is wrong." Sprawled across Ed Martinek's 63-acre family farm, Adventure Acres cultivates a wholesome harvest of activities for pintsize and full-size visitors alike. Five corn mazes snake across a combined 11-plus miles of land, challenging navigators with twists and turns as onlookers and overly concerned scarecrows shout directions from an elevated watchtower. Scenic 30-minute hayrides explore the winding creeks and wildlife that meander peacefully across the grounds, and air-powered corn cannons equip trigger fingers with the power to launch ears up to 500 feet. After scouting the farm's outlying features, guests wrap back around to the petting zoo, where they can play with or try to elicit stock advice from tightlipped goats, horses, and cows.
