No men, no makeup, no mirrors. It's a philosophy that?s helped members of the Curves community since 1992. Part fitness center, part community center, Curves is a women?s only club that takes a streamlined approach to health, fitness, and weight loss. Curves has teamed up with health and fitness coach Jillian Michaels to develop full-body, 30-minute workouts that kick-start weight loss, combining strength training, cardio, and stretching into sessions that torch fat, build strength, boost intensity, and prevent plateaus. These workouts are enhanced further by the Curves Complete Program, available for an extra fee, which is rooted in Curves' method for effective weight loss in that it supplements efforts at the gym with personalized meal plans and weekly one-on-one meetings with a certified Curves coach.
Though The Dharma Room is a yoga and wellness studio, it often reverberates with the telltale sounds of a comedy club or a dentist's office with leaky nitrous-oxide containers. Owners Jill Johnson and Sean Gallup put a playful spin on the ancient practice during Laughter yoga classes, a style that mingles breathing exercises with spontaneous giggles. The sessions reflect an overall commitment to finding joy through the studio's yoga and holistic health services, which include massage, reiki, and meditation in addition to the class curriculum.
The Dharma Room's staff endorses acceptance of all guests regardless of experience level or age. Their workshops often stretch beyond the scope of traditional yoga, tapping into happiness reserves with tai chi and crystal-singing-bowl meditation.
Ahva Halma began her love affair with dance early in life, shortly after trading in her footie pajamas for a tutu and ballet slippers. As a young lady, she made her first foray into the world of Latin movement by studying flamenco, a journey she continues to this day in her Zumba workshops. Ahva’s commitment to sharing the fun and fitness-building benefits of dance led her to earn seven types of Zumba teaching certifications. As a registered nurse, she’s equally enthusiastic about women’s health. This is why Ahva additionally teaches Pilates and yoga courses with an emphasis on pre- and postnatal techniques.

Trained by prestigious predecessor Rigan Machado, the experienced instructors of Action MMA tutor fledgling fighters in honorable, effective combat. The MMA gym offers classes in various fighting styles, with a primary focus in the two types of Brazilian jujitsu, gi (uniform required) and no gi. The Adults BJJ class trains students in grappling and rolling techniques, designed to subdue opponents in on-the-ground fights without resorting to insults or stern letters of condemnation. Instructors perform a specific move several times, and then break beginning brawlers into couples, so each exercise can be practiced and perfected. The same methods and techniques are used in the Kids BJJ class, where lively little ones gain valuable fighting techniques while learning black-belt principles (modesty, courtesy, integrity, perseverance, honesty, and humility), ensuring each young one gains lifelong values.
