Blackbeard and his notorious friends run the adventure-golf show at Pirate's Cove Adventure Golf. It's easy to imagine the pirates hiding across the cove's two courses—maybe inside a cave, lurking behind a waterfall, or waiting under a bridge. In reality, it's only pirate legends and themes that inhabit each hole's obstacles and winding greens. Plaques display exciting pirate tales, and a large, wooden pirate ship looms out on the water, its deck transformed into an adventure-golf hole. Nearby, Pirate's Cove Marketplace carries the apparel and accessories needed to strut a plank in style. The shop stocks pirate-themed costumes, books, and even treasure chests.

The Creative Stitch invites yarnheads and needle novices to explore a vast selection of knitting tools, patterns, and books, or enroll in classes held in the shop's cozy confines. Learn such basics as purling, casting on, and crafting mittens from old bank statements during the three-hour beginning knitting class. Class sizes are limited to six to eight people, affording each student ample elbow room and individualized instruction from The Creative Stitch's skilled knitters. Though participants are welcome to bring their own supplies, the class includes yarn and needles but does not cover rent, food, and pet care neglected during marathon knitting sessions.
Loraine Belcher is good at sharing. When Lorain's Stitch 'n' Crafts first opened back in 1989, she was sharing a storefront space with her husband. There, she shared her skills and extensive knowledge with any curious clients, and shared her good taste through a well-curated selection of products. Today, 26 years and four moves later, she occupies her own 1,800 square-foot space with a huge inventory of books, materials, and sewing machines. The shop also has ample space for students to take small group sewing and quilting classes during the day and ghosts to try on colorful remnants after-hours.
Owner Richard Lanza began Open Doors as a metaphysical healing center and store in 1992, and he carried that healing spirit into the yoga studio he opened in 2003. At Open Doors Yoga Studios, Richard's goal is to create a space where people feel empowered to explore their personal beliefs on a path toward self-healing. Thus, yoga instructors at the studio's numerous locations help practitioners achieve their personal goals through accessible classes, each designed to build core strength while quieting the mind and increasing body awareness. From slow-flow heated classes to unheated Hatha sessions, students can participate in a variety of yoga styles geared toward beginners, more experienced participants, and those who only feel comfortable in a 98-degree room.
