At Club Results, power couple Cynthia and Steve Teran help clients of all ages, body types, and fitness levels get into the best shape of their lives. A former Miss Galaxy and Miss Fitness U.S.A., Cynthia helps her students build lean muscle and jumpstart their metabolism with classes, while certified personal trainer Steve mentors clients in safe, effective weight and cardio workout techniques. During their Total Body Training Bootcamp sessions, participants sculpt their bodies and burn fat with an interval training method that firms and slims much faster than a boring trek on a treadmill or an afternoon spent trying to lift barbells with their minds.
Most 5Ks feature participants in sweat-wicking T-shirts and shorts sprinting toward the finish line. But The Sweater Dash is different. During the fun run, runners and walkers don ugly sweaters to ring in the holiday season. Following the festive jaunt, participants head to the Ugly Sweater Party to celebrate their achievement with live music and holiday food. To add to the merriment, the event includes an award ceremony for Ugliest Sweater and a meet-and-greet with Santa, during which the winner of the Ugliest Sweater award can ask him for more stylish clothing.
So Cal X Fit trainers Luis Briseno and Michael Jauregui get exercisers into shape during engaging boot-camp classes. These workouts incorporate myriad forms of resistance, from battle ropes and Prowler sleds to TRX suspension training tools and over-sized tires from Paul Bunyan's childhood tricycle. To complement the workouts, So Cal X Fit also provides body wraps and nutritional counseling.
When The Charity Bomb’s staff purchases pink-, purple-, and blue-dyed cornstarch in bulk, they aren’t preparing to thicken the world’s biggest pan of tie-dyed gravy. Instead, they’re preparing for one of their festive 5K color runs, where runners are greeted at the finish line with cheers and handfuls of colorful powder. Each run, including the organization’s nighttime glow-in-the-dark run for sleep-runners, concludes with a party and benefits charities such as Boy Scout of America.
At first glance, wooden boxes, ropes, tires, and weighted balls may seem like materials pulled from an abandoned factory. But each piece was carefully chosen for its ability to mimic functional movements, which is the cornerstone of the CrossFit workout. And no one needs to go into a workout wondering what to do; certified coaches lead people through every exercise, adjusting weight and resistance along to way to make sure everyone gets the proper workout. Daily-changing routines keep muscles guessing, in addition to improving strength and metabolic conditioning.
This winter, the streets will fill with red, white, and beard. That's because Santa Hustle 5K makes its way to cities across the country, inviting runners and walkers alike to dress as Old St. Nick. Each participant receives a Santa hat, Santa beard, and Dri-FIT hoodie as they tread the pavement to raise money for a different charity in each city. Post-race, participants can kick-start their holiday cheer at an after-party filled with treats, music, and festive decorations.
