Celebration Rentals’ moonwalks give at-home celebrations an extra boost of fun with hours of bouncing during half-day or full-day stints. Although they allow jumpers to defy gravity, Celebration’s moonwalks adhere to a strict code of safety that eschews sharp edges and trippable surfaces. Inflatables come in one of several themes, such as Disney princesses, superheroes, and classic solid colors, adding imagination and decoration to events. Each moonwalk measures 13’x13’, enough to fit several children or a basketball team in search of extra air time.
Body Rock 2.0 is a 45-minute coed total-body workout led by former army fitness instructor Shane Frazier. Focusing on core strength and body sculpting, this workout tones and sculpts the body into a marble masterpiece, which makes changing socks difficult. Boot-campers have the benefits of group fitness (motivation, camaraderie) with the advantages of expert instructor training (one-on-one guidance, a steady stream of firm handshakes) and an interactive nutrition plan (dietary tips, advice about which roots are edible). Classes run Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays at 5:15 a.m., 8:15 a.m., and 5:15 p.m. (no evening class on Fridays), and Groupon buyers may attend Thursday night’s Punch & Crunch class at 5:30 p.m. Learn more about Body Rock 2.0 group fitness online.
Owner and instructor Christina Kish spent 15 years applying the skills she learned earning an M.B.A. to work in high-tech marketing and co-founding the DVD-delivery service NetFlix. Despite her achievements in business fields, she feels an even greater passion coaching others to meet their fitness goals and gain personal confidence. She now has a team of enthusiastic instructors who build students' flexibility and endurance in dynamic pole and aerial fabric-based workouts.
The 3,200-square-foot studio sports four aerial fabric, two corde lisse, and 12 aerial hammock mounts for indoor dangling and ten permanent, 20-foot poles for students to practice movement-based tricks, dance moves, and crime-fighting techniques. Instructors guide students through mid-air acrobatics on poles and aerial ropes, or blend yoga and Pilates into aerial hammock training. While most of Poletential's classes cater to women, aerial and power pole sessions also allow men to escape gravity's crushing bear hugs.
Christina, owner of Yoga & Friends, began her yoga training in 1995. Since then, she has studied with and stood extremely close to some of the practice's most renowned yogis, including John Friend, Jamie and Justin Allison, and Rodney Yee. Christina's classes are based primarily in the Hatha yoga tradition, a style that aims to unite the mind, body, and spirit through standing and seated postures, as well as deep-breathing exercises. Certified Zumba instructors and reiki masters complement yoga with dynamic cardio work and relaxing spiritual balancing sessions.
