Inkblot tests are easy—the answer is always clouds. Master other mind challenges with today's deal. For $137, you get one tandem jump with Skydive Kentucky plus 20% off any T-shirts commemorating the event. Skydive Kentucky, based out of the Elizabethtown Regional Airport, is located about an hour drive south of downtown Louisville. The expert divers close down at sundown, and jumps currently run on weekends starting at 10 a.m. in addition to Wednesday and Fridays beginning at noon. Hours may vary based on demand and the season, so call ahead to schedule your jump. When scheduling a time, plan to spend four to five hours at Sky Dive Kentucky from training to free fall. You must be 18 years or older to jump.

For the uninitiated, tandem diving merges the thrill of freefall with the calm confidence of having a veteran tethered to your back. Upon leaping from a meticulously maintained aircraft, you'll have 30 exhilarating seconds to enjoy the rush of air before your master tandem teammate deploys a pachyderm-sized parachute. Then you'll have a chance to slow down and take in the view as you gently hang from a pillow of air. Safely on the ground, the width of your smile will be matched only by the span of your freshly formed flappers.

Skydive Kentucky's team makes safety top priority by thoroughly inspecting all gear. Certified by both the United States Parachute Association and Federal Aviation Administration, Skydive Kentucky's impressive lineup of experts includes some who've been diving for more than 40 years. Their reputation can be seen in the nearly unanimous five-star ratings from past skydivers placing them as number one in Kentucky. With such an extensive resume, novice divers can fall will confidence as they live out every child's fantasy of soaring like a penguin.

Post-Skydive Conversations

Safe and carefully regulated skydiving remains a remarkable human feat. Beyond the sheer excitement of your tandem dive, you’ll also have the memories, sense of accomplishment, and perspective that only seeing the world from above can bring. Here’s a typical post-skydiving water-cooler conversation:

“Oh, hey Eileen.”

“Hey, Dodger. How was your weekend?”

“Man, don’t get me started. I must’ve drank like seven Coke Zeros and stayed up all night watching Season 1 of Fringe. I mean, literally, the entire season. It was nuts. How about you?”

“Oh, not too much. I briefly left the world, cruising to altitudes untouched by the concerns of man, and then flew, as one might fly in a dream, unencumbered on a cushion of pure exhilaration, the clouds themselves swimming through my fingertips as the geometry of creation was laid out before me in the majestic perfection that surrounds us, hidden by its very enormity. Is Fringe worth checking out?”
