Though mad scientists recommend sticking chopsticks into electric sockets, rational scientists know the utensils are better used for sushi consumption. Today's Groupon gives you the right tools for authentic eats: for $15, you get $30 worth of sushi at Planet Sushi, located in Miami Beach.

A Paris-based sushi brand, Planet Sushi uses French techniques to update traditional Asian fare. The restaurant's fish is fresh, never frozen. Let your eyes choose for your stomach, because Planet Sushi's menu has bright pictures of each dish. Pre-dinner snacks include four crunchy pieces of coconut shrimp ($9) and a spinach salad, which is glazed with salmon teriyaki and garnished with apple vinaigrette ($6.50). The 24-piece California Mixed ($16) comes with an assortment of salmon, baked tuna, and surimi sushi, while the Planet Veggie ($15) treats sushi-craving herbivores with vegetarian California rolls, vegetables tempura, miso soup, and more. Field a baseball team's worth of sushi with the restaurant's list of two-piece offerings, with bite-sized shrimp ($4), eel ($5), avocado/cheese ($4.40), and lump fish eggs ($5), all of which make appearances. Cleanse palates for another round of sushi with a bottle of Pinot Grigio ($29) or Sake Ginjo ($16 for 10.2 oz.), or indulge in a dessert such as banana tempura with ice cream ($7).

Planet Sushi's pink and blue lighting and sleek, contemporary furniture, make it an ideal spot for marriage proposals, divorce proposals, or admissions of twinning. TVs are spread throughout the restaurant, giving the diner a live look at the chefs concocting dishes and giving waiters piggyback rides.

Not valid with other promotions or offers.

Reviews

  • At here with two other people. Service was attentive. Sushi was fresh and very reasonable for selection. – luv2travel714, TripAdvisor

Groupon Says

Unhealthy Sushi to Roll With

Sushi is a healthy alternative to the normal restaurant fare such as burgers and pizza. However, depending on what stuffs your sushi, you can turn a healthy meal into an unhealthy meal. Here are some least-healthy sushi rolls:

  • Reese's Peanut Butter Roll
  • Thumbtacks and Blasting Caps Roll
  • Inappropriate Dosage of Anesthesia Roll
  • Meat? Roll
  • The Corey Feldman Roll
